McNair's Death a Flashback for Williams
For Gregg Williams, a former coach of the Redskins and Titans, the shooting death of Steve McNair brought back memories of Sean Taylor, who was shot to death in November 2007.
Williams shared his thoughts in a telephone conversation this afternoon. For more of his memories of McNair and the latest details, follow Mark Maske over at The League.
"I tell you this, the first thought that popped into my head was all the flood of memories, going through this same ordeal with Sean Taylor. And I don't think any parent, or any close person of anyone, that gets that phone call when a loved one and someone very close to you gets shot and killed, that's pretty devastating," Williams said.
"That's the first thought that went through my head when my wife called after it went public. I immediately thought of Sean and actually I spoke with Sean's dad today and spoke with him and said happy Fourth of July and had a great conversation back and forth with him about Sean and then I got the phone call [about] Steve."

Oh, give me a break. I KNEW this was coming...those 2 guys should not even be mentioned in the same sentence. Its a slap in the face to #21.
One guys gets killed defending his home and family against violent thugs trying to break in and rob them.
The other guy gets killed in his illicit love nest by the twentysomething girl he is cheating on his wife with.
Not the same at all.

Good call man, at least someone has some sense. Tragic, no doubt, but not on par with ST21.
