More Corners

The Redskins continue to look at the cornerback spot. Even if they get Smoot, corner Travis Fisher has a scheduled visit here Saturday. Fisher is another Rosenhaus guy, as is Fletcher, Portis, Cartwright (recent defection to Team Shark), the Reaper, Santana. Oh yeah, and Troy Vincent signed with him just before being released. That's quite a posse on one team.

Anyway, not 100 percent certain Fisher will get here - look at the Leonard Davis stuff for instance - but te Skins like him in a depth role. Skins also like Arizona corner David Macklin league sources said, and he would be in the mix for that 3-4th corner as well.

Should the Skins land Smoot and one of those guys, I would think they would either trade Springs - it would require a big caop escalation to deal him, but there is no lack of interest and the Skins always seem to find a way - or cut him after Jume 1, when he would count just $2.5 in dead money in 07, rather than the full $7.5 he counts now (the other $5 million gets lumped onto their 2008 cap).
