More on Springs
From Jason Reid: Cornerback Shawn Springs, who suffered a bruised calf after being kicked in practice this week, will not play tonight, a league source said.
Springs, who still was in significant pain Thursday afternoon, has limited mobility because of the injury, the source said. Springs, Carlos Rogers and Fred Smoot are in a three-man rotation for the two starting cornerback positions.
With Springs sitting out, Rogers and Smoot are expected to start, and fourth-round pick Justin Tryon could be needed in some obvious passing situations. Tryon struggled in pass coverage throughout the off-season and was beaten repeatedly for long gains and touchdowns in the Redskins' final preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at FedEx Field.

We'll be OK as long as we don't get them into 3rd and long situations.

But really folks. Let's look on the bright side. At least I'm not in jail so I can watch the game. I have the sneaking suspicion that we'll get an least another hundred in the slammer by the end of the evening...

I agree first game maybe keep guys off the field to save them for the rest of the season. On the other hand it is a division game and with the other two coming up so soon we need every swingin' soul up in here.
So I am torn on Springs and Taylor.
Addendum - yeah well if there is significant pain then keep him off. What a strange and vaguely dorky injury.

C'mon.

I am not sure what to think about this development. Our DL must play out of their minds to protect our secondary. We must also control the ball and give our D all the rest it needs while putting up TD's. Not out of the realm of possibility but a mighty tall task I am hoping they are up for. Go Skins!
If Tryon gets on the field, I hope they blitz the crap out of Manning.
WAG: Good guys 20, Gints 19. Brooks gets a winning drop kick with time expiring.

six guys ... not one picks the Skins, even for a wild card slot.

only other teams not picked for anything by anyone in NFC were:
Zona, SF, STL, Bears and ATL
Is this the company we are keeping these days?

Why would they ever let Tryon on the field in front of Torrence? Torrence knows the system, is quicker than Tryon and is a better cover corner...
What was the deal with Smoot's injury? Bruised back or something?
