Need Redskins News Now? Try Text

When it comes to the Redskins, is the traditional news cycle too slow for you? Yeah, me too.

Luckily for you, washingtonpost.com now offers text-message alerts for the latest Redskins news. Our goal is to send out a text message the moment we post a blog item or story that would seem to be the biggest Redskins news of the day. So in total, we're guessing 5 to 7 texts a week.

So far, the texts have been a big hit. I encourage you to try 'em and see for yourself.

If you want these, text "REDSKINS" to "WPOST" (97678 if you're numerically-oriented). You'll receive a confirmation text, and will have to reply "OK" to that.

You can send a "STOP" message to the same number (97678) at any point to stop receiving the texts.

Note: Standard text message rates apply (but no extra fees beyond that).

Thanks,
