Chat tonight -- and tomorrow -- after the Redskins make their pick

Assuming all goes as planned, which years of watching the Redskins have taught me is always the case, Paul Tenorio will be chatting tonight. Most likely, that'll get underway at 8:30ish-y.

First thing Friday morning, Tracee Hamilton will chat. The definition of "first thing," by the way, is 9:30 a.m.

Mark Maske will be next up at noon Friday. He'll be in Radio City Music Hall tonight, covering the draft and trying out for the Rockettes. He'll have behind-the-scene details for you.

Of course, the guys and I will be here on the blog. Tenorio and JReid will be in Ashburn along with Tom Boswell; Maese is in NYC with Maske. We'll supply the news; you bring the jibba and the jabba.

Where's 4th? Did he slip down a loophole while doing Alice's taxes? Impose self-exile upon realizing Spiller won't be the pick?

Any other head coaches bringing their kid to work today?

May we never have a draft pick this high again. The excitement is killing me.

Why I hope we draft Okung. Great story.

There's still a 45% chance that Spiller will be the pick. Probably higher if he should fall to the 4th round.

--------

Agreed.

The big fella stays a Redskin.

He's like that new car you just bought -- drive it off the lot and watch it plummet in value.

Albert Not My Money's Worth has been shopped around on the used car lot, but teams have kicked the tires, and been low balling us.

and I doubt we'll take any less than 2rd round pick for him, which is why he will remain Redskin.

At that juncture, better that he remain a space eater for the Redskins.

But you gotta wonder with the bevy of defensive lineman we've signed leading up to draft day...

I'm going to say Campbell. He is the only player the Skins have allowed discussion of a trade, but think even he stays another year as McNabb's backup (if he can beat out Grossman).

Haynesworth stays and the mayor has egg on his face for being used by JLC to spread unsubstantiated rumors...

RI has been doing these prospect profiles all day along with their respective chances that they will land as a redskin with the 4th pick...what i dont get is that how come the total percentage chances add up to greater than 100 percent...i mean there is only one player that can be picked...shouldnt the sum of the chances for each player equal to 100 percent?

ikings in "hot pursuit" of Haynesworth

Posted by Michael David Smith on April 22, 2010 5:12 PM ET
One of the more intriguing draft rumors floating around today involves a new team that may have an interest in acquiring Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth: The Minnesota Vikings.

A league source told PFT that the Vikings are in "hot pursuit" of Haynesworth.

The rumor we heard lines up with something Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune wrote today, indicating ESPN's John Clayton had mentioned that the Vikings had contacted the Redskins about Haynesworth. Although Redskins coach Mike Shanahan has said there have been no Haynesworth trade talks, most people believe that Haynesworth would be available.

Haynesworth would seem to be a better fit in the Vikings' 4-3 defense than in the new 3-4 that the Redskins are installing. In Minnesota, Haynesworth would join a defensive line that already has defensive tackles Kevin Williams and Pat Williams, both of whom are still potentially facing four-game suspensions over a 2008 positive test for a prescription diuretic.

Zeke's good -- Reid's an idiot. The 'Skins can get rid of everyone, but they only have one pick in the first round. Reid seems to think they have a separate pick for each guy he mentioned.

sounds about right. and it doesn't need to add up to 100% since it's not addressing the relative probabilities of mutually exclusive outcomes. more like a futures prediction market or house odds in vegas, representing the cumulative wisdom of the seven respondents with respect to potentially independent events...

...unlike the asinine WP posts re: our first pick. I'm not usually into dogging the folks who provide this forum, but that was some pretty weak stuff.

in any case, after getting Cow Sense beef management software recompiled and running, with minor tweaks to the source code, I think AH and JC will be gone by the end of the weekend. but the confidence intervals are wide. not sure about the other guys.

The Skins need to trade down, they can get a good free safety later like Major Wright or Nate Allen. I would be quite content getting a tackle like Davis in the middle of Round 1, and the extra picks to address all our other needs. "NFL sources" tell beat writer Judd Zulgad that an Albert Haynesworth trade to the Vikings isn't going to happen.
That didn't take long. It's not clear if it's the Redskins or Vikings refusing to pull the trigger here. The Vikings may not be willing to part with a high draft pick with Pat Williams and Kevin Williams already in pace.

How pis-sed will JAX fans be if Tebow is gone before JAX's 2nd round pick (42)? And there is no way Jags can use their #10 pick in the first round on him.

Damned if they do and dont.

You have to wonder if the NFL has unofficially asked a "favor" of the other teams to pass on Tebow until Jags get a shot in the 2nd round.

And maybe Tebow's agent knows he is not going to be touched in the 1st round for this reason and why he sent him home to Jacksonville.

Although the statement from the Agent that he went home to Jacksonville "to be with family" does sound better..than "The Fix is In". No one is going to touch him in the 1st Round so the Jags can select him in the 2nd.
