Shanahan and Allen, the historical view

In 16 years as a head coach, Mike Shanahan has never picked as high as No. 4 in the NFL Draft. The safe bet is, he's not planning on ever picking this high again. But now that he is, Shanahan plans to make the most of it. If you're the type who likes to study draft histories to predict the future, CSNWashington.com's Ryan O'Halloran put together a list of Shanahan's and Bruce Allen's first-round picks. And to close out our series of Mel Kiper videos, here's the ESPN analyst discussing Shanahan and Allen as personnel guys.

FWIW add another one in the Berry column.

My top-10 mock draft

Posted: April 22nd, 2010 | Jason La Canfora | Tags: 2010 NFL Draft, mock draft

Now that we’re mere hours away from kicking off the NFL draft, I figured I’d break down and do a top-10 mock. I’m going to stop at 10 because I believe trades will throw things into flux around there (teams at 10, 11, 12 and 14 are all actively trying to deal down).

Here it goes:

1. Rams: Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford
2. Lions: Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh
3. Buccaneers: Oklahoma DT Gerald McCoy
4. Redskins: Tennessee S Eric Berry
5. Chiefs: Oklahoma State OT Russell Okung
6. Seahawks: Oklahoma OT Trent Williams
7. Browns: Boise State CB Kyle Wilson
8. Raiders: Idaho G Mike Iupati
9. Bills: Rutgers OT Anthony Davis
10. Jaguars: Georgia Tech DE Derrick Morgan (the Jags could trade this pick, too, with Morgan or South Florida DE Jason Pierre-Paul the likely target of the move)

Very poor piece. Could Kiper have said any less about how well Shanahan and Allen have drafted? Boo

Agreed. He never really addressed the original question. I will say, however, his last sentence completely defines the Snyder era, thus far, and everyone in this City should note.
