See, Green Bay knows how to grow a quarterback-WE DON'T...It's always "Snyder-Fill-Tha-Seats", without patience...I recommend a healthy dose of Tom Waits, Einsturzende Neubautein, and the Germs...

2011 NFL draft could feature weakest group of seniors in years
Posted by Michael David Smith on December 5, 2010, 12:42 PM EST
If he decides to leave college and enter the 2011 NFL draft, quarterback Andrew Luck is widely expected to be the first overall pick. That’s largely due to his great production at Stanford in a pro-style offense, but also partly due to the fact that this year’s crop of college seniors is considered by scouts to be one of the worst ever.
Charley Casserly said today on CBS that the 2011 class may be the weakest group of seniors he’s seen.
Washington quarterback Jake Locker may be the most interesting member of this weak class of seniors. Despite some draft “experts” claiming a year ago that Locker was comparable to — or even better than — Sam Bradford, that comparison was obviously ridiculous at the time and looks just as ridiculous now. Locker didn’t receive a first-round grade from the NFL Collegiate Advisory Committee a year ago, and it’s hard to see how his stock could have risen after his mediocre senior season.
Per Casserly, Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller might be the best senior in the country. Miller’s senior year got off to a shaky start as he struggled with a sprained ankle, but he’s had big games recently against Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas, and his stock seems to be rising.
Casserly named Nate Solder, a 6-foot-9, 315-pound tackle from Colorado who was named the Big 12 offensive lineman of the year last week, as the top senior offensive lineman.

When is Haynesworth going to get over his big ego problems and start practicing with the team like he's in the NFL? Sit his azz forever, Shanahan.

We'll see at approx. 4pm.....I've been a skins fan for a long time but it's hard to constantly see a team make questionable decisions and consistantly play a conservative offense and a passive defense. Something has to give.............
Posted by: kingpenn1 | December 5, 2010 12:46 PM
I understand all that. I'm with you there. I, as of yet, don't see the Devin Thomas move as questionable. I see the Devin Thomas draft in the second as questionable...with evidence to back it up.

Dude, can you guys quit criticizing the refs already. We are not a good team! And I'm tired of every team getting their "first" against us! I mean seriously, giants gets first opening drive TD against us, so did Vikings last week. Rookies get first win, teams get first win, first road win, etc. And my excitement of Shanny being our coach is gone too. AH inactive? Shanny BETTER do some great things next year!!!

Why shoould we stop criticizing the refs? We criticize the Skins when they suck why should the refs get a break? Especially when they are as God awful as they are. They didn't even come close to stretching the first down measurement out. It looked like a snake in the grass. On that incompletion Orakpo was bent over backward with a hold and no call. Of course they didn't have a problem seeing a brief little facemask on Brown though.

There are only 5 or so starters that I think will be able to make the transition for our Defense, in fact 5 is generous. KpO is fine, as are Los, Hall and TheRon. You could keep Flech, but by the time the other 10 spots are settled he will be looking at retirement.

They should have come out with a two TE set to start the game, this would have given McNabb some time in the passing game and given the under used Fred Davis some oppourtunities and also forced the Giant's defense to adjust, not that Kyle or Mike Shannahan would think about that.

The four biggest problems on the Skins right now:
- Injuries
- No depth, which just compounds the injury issue
- Poor offensive line
- Poor defensive line
Am I disappointed and bummed that the Redskins are playing so poorly right now? Of course! But to expect a coach to come to a new team that doesn't have a lot of talent and get them to the playoffs right away is expecting a bit much.
The Redskins won't make the playoffs this year, they might not make the playoffs next year, but if Shanahan sticks around, they should really be serious contenders in a few seasons.
It sucks to think that its going to be another season or two before we see Redskins playoff football, but that's the reality of things.

A despiration challenge for a TO loss...
not that it would make a difference for a
team in disarray, BUT making good disciplinary decisions, making points to
players who dare to challenge their HC who
really perfers to be a GM. The Redskins
need a HC who plays the team's best players, and not one wants to work in the Front Office.

No depth. Just don't have anything on the bench that can step up.
This is the result largely of having 10 years or so of no draft picks.
Build through the draft, develop a core group of players, then augment that with FA pickups.
Skins have never done that. And this is what happens when you get into the second half of a season.

Losing sucks, but if their is some growth you can deal with that. But this is the same old redskins. We are the team you want to play when you need a first, first win, first touchdown on opening drive. Buffalo is in better shape than the redskins. All I would like to see is that they play with enthusiasm and spirit. They play with neither. Do not trade away any draft picks this team is several years away and we need new DL and OL lines. The only decent interior lineman that we have never plays because Shanahan does not like him. Trad Albert back to Tenn for a 5th rounder if you are not going to play him.

Wow, I think the Giants felt sorry for the Redskins and took it easy on them. Heartless, heartless, heartless.

How bad can this team be? They are just a disgrace!

Haynesworth should be happy he was benche...er...deactivated. At least he didn't experience the playing embarrassment. I rated them a 2 and the only reason I didn't go with a 1 is because Orakpo STILL runs on a high motor and was kicking anything in sight on the sidelines...all the rest of them should donate their game checks to a charity, just like they did the game.

I'm so used to loosing that I don't even get mad anymore. Luckily I'm Spanish and we won the World Cup this year. Yes, the Redskins bring suffering as far as Spain.

Just quit going to the games, quit buying their crap and cut off the TV. This will work, BOYCOTT THE REDSKIN'S!

Mr. Snyder should immediately up the price of season tickets x 2, charge $15 for a beer, and $12.50 for a hotdog. Then, and only then, will I truly enjoy the Redskins experience...at least I'll have another reason to hate this owner and what he's done to this franchise. My years at RFK seem now to have been time spent in another life.

They let the Giants steal their lunch money and send them home to mama for more. They gave no effort and showed no signs of strength of any kind -- mental, physical or emotional. Some careers should end over that defensive non-effort.

Same old same...
No Zorny, no JC, but oddly, same old OLine/QB play
Same old 'can't tackle'
Same old everything
Danny's Karma...nothing will change until he is 'exorcised'. He sold his soul to the Devil and the Devil wants a REFUND

I turned the game off after the first five minutes. Did other stuff, had a lot of fun. What a waste of time this team is.

Boy, am I glad I gave up my season tickets 4 years ago. This team makes me look like a genious. Snyder should have waited for Jon Gruden. If he goes to the Cowboys, I am done with the NFL.

I didn't watch the game, but watched the Pirates of the Kerry-Bean: Dead Man's Chest, for about the 10th time. Yes, I know everything that happens, having seen it numerous times, but I also know how the Skins game will turn out, and alas, I find the movie a 1000 times more entertaining.

The Skins should be locked out. The owner, management, coaching and team play are a disgrace.

Let's look at the bright side. We improved our rushing yardage by 250% in only one week! I still say 6-10 on the year.

Another game, another feckless performance. We're looking at a 5 and 11 season, sports fans, unless divine intervention puts up touchdowns for our boys. The Skins always make their opponents look good.

This team breaks my heart. Pitiful execution and the receivers are absolutely WORTHLESS. No heart. No commitment. Here's an idea. No win = no pay. We might see these worthless excuses for football players applying themselves. Wanna new Escalade with those ghetto rims? Easy enough...win, you losers!

Draft Pouncy at Guard 1st round and Kellen Moore at QB 2nd round. Problems solved. SuperBowl! How could you even think about switching to a 3-4 without having a nose-guard on the roster??

You already know what's going to happen. Santana Moss will be the #1 wr next year. Heyer, Rabach, and Lichtenstieger will be starting o-linemen next year. We'll read during the summer how Lo Alexender is flying around in OTA's making plays like Lawrence Taylor. Skins will trade their #2 pick for Donald Driver or some other has been. Same old, same old.

What a pathetic performance! While some guys played their guts out, there were many others who just don't belong in the NFL.It galls me to see "Fat Albert" standing on the sidelines which is probably better than a sky booth seat with his favorite squeeze.Shanahan has a tough job ahead. If he can find more guys with the heart and attitude of London Fletcher,it will be a start.

I am truly thankful for a fantastic home team that never gives up and plays to its full potential on every snap. Many people have criticized Dan Snyder since he bought the Washington Redskins. however, those are simple-minded folk who don't understand football. One need only look closely at the team's performance during his tenure as owner to see that it is being run with a genius business plan that will sustain the franchise for generations. Thank you Dan Snyder.

The Giants are GOOD.
They, properly and over quite a few years have prioritized both offensive and defensive lines.
I'd likely trade all the Redskins' RBs, even if healthy and despite Portis' clearly superior abilities especially in seeing and taking whatever the appropriate north-south holes and in pass blocking, for Jacobs and Bradshaw.
Without trading OLs, though, I doubt there'd be much difference. Papa Shanahan proved more than anyone that success can be had with both "star" RBs like Portis and Terrell Davis, as well as with the otherwise undistinguished (but presumably more than competent and well-coached) R. Droughns, et al.
Disagree? Two words, then: Timmy Smith.
I'm sure the theory holds absent Mark Schlereth, too.
Both Eli Manning and Donovan McNabb are accurate, smart, elusive, tough leaders capable of quarterbacking good teams to championships. It's as silly to complain about McNabb's bad picks as it would be of Eli's. Plus, of course, Donovan was intercepted more often this year because his receivers were less experienced both in general and specifically with respect to his throws. The Philly workhorse WRs over the years, of course, likely had hands, ran routes and otherwise did better.
The Giants won at home with Nicks and Smith out, and Manningham a non-factor (thanks to Hall), because of long more well coached line play of long more well selected line men. They have that advantage over most every other NFL team.
The 'Skins got Trent Williams in the draft and otherwise only slightly improved a laughable OL. Egomaniacal coaching turned their decent 4-3 into a comical 3-4, ridiculously forgiven in the media I consume as suffering from "growing pains" and over-simplistically from Haynesworth's wrongly-ignored resistance.
Mr. Snyder, my adice: content yourself with otherwise reasonable coaching, assure that they prioritize improvements in line men and line play, and with my sympathy, discourage but forgive and swallow the enormous cost of the ghastly egomaniacal and self-serving need to force even star players into systems for which they can take eventual credit.

Oh, my God.
You idiots deserve the team you have.
All this talk about Quarterbacks and ego problems...
What an ignorant fan base. Snyder is a great representative.
"Campbell's fault."
"Shanahan will fix it."
Worst team in the league. Not even close.
beep-beep... the season's dead.
I only wish we played the Raiders. McFadden would run for 200 yards and Campbell would be 10 of 16 for 150 yds and 2 TDs, like a QB on a decent team is supposed to do.
We're throwing 44 times now? And scoring 7 points?
Worst team in the league. Defense should be all traded away or cut in order to save their careers.
Horrible.
How could anybody ever show up at FedEx? Unless I see something different... A winning team, an attitude... No way. Not another penny. No way.

This team is now playing for draft order, 5-11 is all they will muster this year. The Defense is none exsiting and the Offense is worse. The poor excuse for and OL continues to haunt a team who knew its needs prior to the draft. McNabb is what they thought he was in Philly, and with no help at the OL he is what he is, Awful ! Another wasted Year and another wasted Sunday. Snyder is the PT Barnum of the NFL, every year he sells the same old product with the illusion of greatness. Bravo Mr Snyder, you are who we thought you were.

Our Owner is an idiot... Shannahan was let go from Denver for a reason, and belongs in the AFC - NOT HERE! Small nimble offensive linemen can't budge the big bruising D lines on the other side of the ball. We need BIG, MEAN, BRUTAL linemen who can push the line of scrimmage forward - NOT SIDEWAYS!! Not to mention, protect the QB... In The NFC - particularly in the NFC East, the name of the game is smash-mouth!
Snyder, fire Shannahan, and then sell the team to someone who knows what conference we play in! Then maybe we fans will have some joy...

Our team is doing well. The ROI is trending flat but we are still in the black. A little more marketing and we'll be in great shape for the last month of the season. Just need to make beef up our web presence in the off season, and we'll be golden 2011.

Poll: Which is worse:
A) Giving up 6 turnovers in a division game.
B) Wearing pants the same unnatural neon yellow as the fake cheese sold on stadium nachos?

God, the Redskins stink! I've been a skins fan since '72 and this is as bad as I've ever seen them play.
The team hasn't been the same since old man Cooke kicked the bucket. That little snot nosed wanker Dan Snyder doesnt' know squat about running a pro football team. I wish somebody kick his butt, take the team from him, and give the team to an ownner who knows what the f''k they're doing.
I never liked that pampered wanker Dan Snyder anyway. God, I hate that little wuss!
Man, we suck! Somebody help the Skins PLEASE!!!

Wasn't it nice to see how well Jason Campbell performed against San Diego? It is amazing what a quarterback can do with a good offensive line and support from the coaching staff and fans. Now that Campbell is out of this hostile, hypercritical environment, he looked like a pro bowl quarterback. Does anyone remember McNabb's words prior to the game with the Giants when he was reminded that he defeated the Giants in 11 of 18 games, and the question was whether he would do it again. His response: He had a different group around him. It appears that McNabb and Bruce Allen have clearly identified the long neglected problem and needs of the Skins: Offensive and Defensive lines. Hope this can be corrected in the not too distant future.
