Ugh. They converted two 4th downs.
The good thing is that may have scored too quickly.
Losing that timeout for the Landry injury might hurt.

Come on Redskins you just can't leave points out there like you did in the first half. Continue to score and score often, Try and get the run game together, keep up on all fronts of the positive we did today. As long as the Cowgirls are losing I can smile after a game like today, learn from the mistakes and keep up the gains like the nice passing game and of course the defence try and keep getting turnovers. Keep your heads up. Thanks Philly for letting McNabb go.
Posted by: ellensamm | September 19, 2010 8:15 PM | Report abuse
Yes, our offense is way better than it's been. We've always had receivers, but now we have a real grown up quarterback who can find them. And our defense made lots of sacks. But where is the rest of the defense? The Houston receivers stood all alone out there most of the time. And we need just a teeny bit of work in the kicking department. We shouldn't ever lose this way.

Williams has two injuries according to Rotowire...sprained knee and some type of ankle injury. Supposed to have MRI tomorrow. We can't have Heyer in there, forget the O planning around Williams...with Heyer in there we can McNabb's gonna get killed, and the L's will start piling up fast!

I'll let last weeks shenanigans go, because They won.
I honestly can't think of a Skins loss that has pissed me off this bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this team sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have zero running game, and our defense under Haslett is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy the 19yr long reel run back in all our faces.
Today I HATE the redskins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
look for them to finish dead last in the division!
No excuses, they f#&kin suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We found a way to give them the game.. it's called our new 3-4 Defense..... We have LB's covering slot receivers, we have stone hand Rogers and Landry miscommunicating in coverage and it was horrible to watch..... at least wtih Blache, we could make stops when it counted.... This defense can't stop a wet dream. We are giving up almost 400 yds per game. No disrespect, we need a mid week 4-3 intervention. Andre Carter, Orakpo, Alexander are not LB's and should not be covering Slot WR's... Shaub had his way with us and the QB's coming down the pike (Rodgers, Manning, E. Manning are just a few to mention) that will have a field day on us if we continue.... lets say this boys.... the Defense and Haslett are to blame for this loss!
Posted by: rvanags | September 19, 2010 9:23 PM | Report abuse
I'm upset but let's look at the positive:
1) McNabb and the passing game were great, how long has it been since 'Skins fans could rely on a pass game
2) The D was solid again against a VERY good offense
3) We barely lost to one of the best teams in the league, the Texans are no fluke
Yes, we need work on closing the game, which was actually the Texans' flaw last year. We need the running game to be more consistent. And, we need for Trent Williams to not be injured. We're not perfect, but at least I can come into every week thinking, Okay the skins have a shot at winning this!

Wow, what a rollercoaster game. I am afraid the loser mentality and malaise will settle on the team. It seems as if every game this year is going to be a struggle. I really thought that when the Skins were up 27-10, they were going to win. This collapse reminded me of last year against the Saints, where they couldn't put tough opponents away when they had the lead. I am talking about the missed field goal. The reason why the Skins lost this game and let it get out of hand is because the Skins can't run the football effectively. As explosive a team as the Texans you have to keep their offensive off the field and the way the Skins are going have to do that is to run the football effectively. It would have burned up the clock. I am not confident next week against the Lions because the Skins secondary will make them look like a great team. There are 14 games, but right now, I don't see a playoff team in Washington this year. I see a sub .500 team and 20th straight year of futility in Washington since the 1991 Super Bowl team. I know there are 14 games left, but this is going to be failure because McNabb is not going to throw up big numbers every game. You are putting too much pressure on a 34 year old quarterback. If were McNabb, I wouldn't came to D.C. I would have refused.

Last week they were handed a game on one of history's dumbest plays to end a half, by a team that couldn't even beat the Bears in their own stadium dedication game. And without a holding penalty they wouldn't even have won that.
And today they blew a 17 point lead in spite of a career day by McNabb. Sure, they still look better than last year, OTOH you could put Wellesley College out there and they'd look better than the 2009 Redskins. The best thing the Skins have going for them right now is that the other three teams in the NFL East are as bad or worse than they are. You might see them go 7 and 9 and still make the playoffs. Big Whoops.

Sad, very sad.
I was convinced that even the Redskins couldn't find a way to lose with McNabb at the helm, and the first half seemed to bear this out. Then Rogers and the Redskins secondary did what they do best and the seemingly insurmountable margin McNabb had handed his team inevitably disintegrated.
Welcome to Washington, Donovan!

I swear, I though the Redskins bench was acting like the game was won in the beginning of the 4th quarter. Laughing....Carrying on....I half expected cigars and brandy to start being handed out. They gave up. The Redskins played 3 excellent quarters then gave up. They figured they could spot the Texans some points, go out on the field and do some cursory defense until the game was over. The Redskins sat on their azzes watching the clock. It was too late when they finally realized the Texans were only one score away from tying it up.

What a stupid way to run a poll. The passing game gets an A (9), the running game gets an F(1), special teams a D(3), Defense gets a D(3). Coaching gets a C(5).
A 1 to 10 on the entire package is lazy.
