Portis out with concussion
Running back Clinton Portis suffered a concussion in the first quarter of the Redskins' game at Atlanta and will not return to the game, the team announced early in the second quarter.
Portis, the Redskins' leading rusher, broke through the left side of the line on a second-and-12 play from the Atlanta 36 yard line. Center Casey Rabach was called for holding on the play, and Portis fell hard to the turf as he was tackled by Atlanta defensive backs Chevis Jackson and Thomas DeCoud.
Portis lay face down on the turf and motionless for a bit. He then rolled over and was eventually helped up and off the field. He carried four times for four yards in the first quarter.
Ladell Betts will see most of the action the rest of the way, though third-stringer Rock Cartwright caught a pass late in the first quarter.

lets go offense! Believe you CAN finish the first half with positive passing yards! That will be a building block for the future.

Throw the ball deep to Malcolm or Marko.
At 2-5 and playing as poorly as ever, why the eff not try and let it rip; take some chances.

Okay, here's the deal. We all need to work on saying something printworthy. Cindy's reading this stuff and clipping it for the Monday Morning paper. It doesn't have to be profound or clever. Just more profound or clever than anyone else which is a pretty low hurdle.
So, from now on, I'm not saying what I really mean. The rest of my posts are more profound, designed for the print edition.
Cindy, if none of these are good enough for the sports section, please consider them for Style, including the comics.

landry's inadequacy is due to the team not drafting or getting a Free Safety. After ST's death (RIP), we have had 3 years now to get a FS which would allow Landry to switch to his natural position of SS. Pickin up Dawkins would have been a huge improvement. but NOOOOO, we have to sign D-hall and Haynesworth for a trillion dollars and have no O-line and a FS that doesnt know how to play his position.

Oh my, oh my. Riggins was right, Theismann is an egomaniacal fool (and always has been - in addition to some other socially unacceptable positions), and we need a new QB...one with a little heart and a lot less emotionalism and narrow-angle focus.
This is more painful than a colonoscopy prep.
Stop talking, Joe, PLEASE. Don't you see how your fellow commentators ignore you???? It is embarassing. Just hearing your voice makes my stomach churn (from WAY BACK). You are such a brown-nosing, apple-polisher.
Riggo, I miss watching you play every Sunday - you were exciting and productive. I loved every 3-4 yards you made almost every play. So what they snapped your photo underneath the table, in your tux, next to Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's legs - they KNEW how you were. If they didn't want you to embarass them, THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE INVITED YOU.
Oh, are the Redskins playing right now??? Oh let me break out my cellphone to call a wrecker. . .oh no, I don't have a cellphone. . .I'm a pothole. Oh, uh, okay, 'BYE!

Trade CP for picks. Trade Smoot for picks. Teach Landry how to play safety instead of just looking for big hits all the time. Replace O-Line and QB in draft. Replace Zorn, I'll agree he was put in an impossible situation, but in order to rebuild this teams confidence/identity and truly clean house he has to go. Don't ever let Cerrato back in the DC area. Open to all trades, no one is safe. Rebuild from square 1.
