Younhave to play someone, Betts is not doing anything because he gets no carries.

Backs spasms? From what? He doesn't do a damn thing all week...That does not bode well for Sunday. Philly is going to light his ass up like a Christmas Tree...I can't wait !

po403,

I think the Eagles have a blog don't they why don't you go over there.

Posted by: Flounder21 | December 19, 2008 12:53 PM | Report abuse

the one carry betts did get he fumbled... everytime portis runs the ball he gets 3 yards. neither of them have that burst of speed necessary for a big play (see chris johnson, deangelo williams, etc.)

Posted by: mopp04 | December 19, 2008 12:53 PM | Report abuse

Ut oh... running "back spasms" cause CP to air dirty laundry on air! Prepare for another week of non game coverage!

Sit him. For the rest of the year.

What's the f'ing point of playing him?

Buckle up, Skins fans. Bodybag II is on the way.

most people from philly can't afford computers so i would say they probably don't have a blog

So Jack, when Roddy was disappointing the Atlanta Fans, you were saying to yourself, 'Boy, I wish I had this guy on my team!'???

Posted by: DaReal4th | December 19, 2008 11:48 AM | Report abuse

Yeah, I was, he would have been a starter over Brandon Lloyd and ARE since his rookie year. You can say Atlanta was disappointed all you want, it doesn't change the fact that his production kicks the crap out of what we've had here from anybody but Moss at the WR position since 2005 so yeah, I would have been very happy with him over the siht we've had.

Posted by: zjfr2

I was about to post something extremely similar to this. Roddy White has never been invisible on the field. He was never a negligible player. He was "disappointing" because he flashed all the ability in the world, but couldn't seem to get over that final hump. Devin Thomas hasn't flashed anything more than being a good open field runner. And as numerous punt and kick returners can attest, that's not nearly enough to be successful at the WR position. Thomas is a LOT further behind than Roddy White was his rookie year.

Posted by: psps23 | December 19, 2008 12:43 PM

Roddy White was picked to become the #1 wideout, so he was on the field for virtually every snap. The best any of the rookies could have done was to become #3 this year. They weren't on the field to make plays.

Revisionist history at it's best. We need to create a RI Source Meter! Cuz some of you dudes be pulling SJK out where the sun don't shine........

please, tell me how good your eagles are... keep in mind we kicked your ass earlier this season in your own back yard and you too didn't do so well against the bengals. what makes you think you can come on here talking smack? your team isn't any better than ours dummy

I hear Leigh Torrence is available. He is one heck of a one cut runner with break away speed. I hear he's so fast, he actually speeds the game clock up. Heads up Vinny!

We didn't make this comparison, Vinny did, don't blame me for pointing out how stupid and wrong the GM is just like when he lied about the actual production of Calais Campbell and Quentin Groves a week or so back. All my point is for him to say compare Thomas and Kelly to Ginn and White is idiotic and way way off base. He can't even compare them to the other receivers drafted in Round 2 this year. Not our comparison, his, get that straight...

Yet another one who holds on to the "revisionist history" thing, as if anything other than revisionist history actually matters when judging a move or draft pick.

By the way, Roddy White was not drafted to be the "#1 WR". He was drafted a year after Michael Jenkins was selected in the 1st round. They were supposed to be a 1-2 punch. And Roddy White only started 8 games his rookie year, so no, he was not on the field for every snap. If you want to claim revisionist history, at least know how to do it yourself.

Roddy White had 29 receptions for ~450 yards his rookie year.

Michael Jenkins had 7 receptions for ~110 yards his rookie year.

Which one does it seem like Devin Thomas is more inclined to follow?

Posted by: psps23 | December 19, 2008 1:02 PM | Report abuse

Jansen has been ruled out for Sunday, thank the lord.

Posted by: Flounder21 | December 19, 2008 1:03 PM | Report abuse

If he and beantown want to say wait and see, that's fine, there's no way to argue that and no other option, we have to wait and see, but don't try and make any comparisons at this point, they fail miserably on most all of them, there is no comparison to get around the fact that despite this team in desperate need of offensive playmakers and the juggernaut that is James Thrash in front of them over an entire season neither Kelly or Thomas were able to get on the field and make an impact. Again, they may in the future, and beantown might be right that Zorn has a underlying plan to not get them involved in order to make his offense inept and possibly get him fired in one year (I doubt it though).

Posted by: zjfr2 | December 19, 2008 1:03 PM | Report abuse

I actually appreciate Philly fans of late. The same fans who are calling for their team to get rid of Mcnabb. The QB who led the team to what 4 straight NFC title games and one SB appearance? Yeah please keep on screamin in your obnoxious yankee, neandertal accents for Mcnabbs exhile! Cuz when you have to watch who fills his place and your team tanks because they have no QB, and ends up getting rid of A Reid too, I will laugh everytime they get swept by NFC East opponents.

Posted by: TonyButterFingersHomo1 | December 19, 2008 1:04 PM | Report abuse

If so, while Santana's "prop" was stupid, it did not cost the team and JLC is wrong again.

Posted by: Lisa_R

It's a sucker punch in the gut for the defense to have to start on its own side of the 50 after the kickoff. ...

Posted by: driley | December 19, 2008 12:59 PM

It was a 55 yard kick off returned to the Cincinnati 30.

Posted by: dcsween | December 19, 2008 1:05 PM | Report abuse

The best any of the rookies could have done was to become #3 this year.

This speaks volumes about the Skins receiving corp and our rookies. Moss is not a #1 and ARE is not a #2. With a little hard work, at a minimum, Thomas could have been a #2. You know the FO wanted one or both of the WRs to be a success so they would have been given every opportunity had they grasped it. I don't blame Kelly for getting injured but coming in in less than ideal shape set those guys back.

I heard a Stub Hub commercial on Snyderadio this morning. It was Larry Michael's voice. It was about "selling your Redskins tickets" ... NOTHING about being a place to BUY Redskins tickets. Stupidity all the way up to the top.

I had the joyous opportunity to listen to Vinny this morning. Lots of words. Said NOTHING. I don't know if he even has anything going on in his head that could possibly be SOMETHING. He spent about a minute belaboring a point about getting behind in a game and repeating the words "INflate" and "DEflate." Regular Norman Einstein. Stupid.

6-S.Suisham extra point is GOOD, Center-67-E.Albright, Holder-1-R.Plackemeier.

Thanks for that stubhub commercial tip, that is truly hysterical. The Un-Holy trinity of Snyder/Cerato/Michael is brutal, just brutal.

If I was a sane fan I just wouldn't care about this team anymore, but I am insane so I will just keep hoping for different results.

Poor Po. Philly is the only NFC East team with a whopping zero Super Bowl rings. The rest of the division has a combined 11. That ain't gonna change this year, even if they squeak into the playoffs, which they won't.

Any team that has a tie game in their record is pretty frickin' awful. I can't wait for Kolb to take over as the opening day starter in 2009.

Last time I checked the Skins whooped up on you in your house, so all you can do Sunday is split the season series with us. A lot of talk for a team that got beat 10 weeks ago.
But wait, I should expect that from a team who is trying to crawl back into a playoff picture that will spit them back out even if they get in.

It dosen't matter.

2-3 years of actual time will determine that.

LH - Mine and all of our expectations raised to a level it shouldn't have.

Eddie Royal and DeSean JAckson went to teams who have had their offense in place for 10+ years.

We are on a whole new offense again that was nothing like we ever had. Devin Thomas had all the athleticisim, but not the skills to be a NFL WR. He has to develop that over time.

MK12 had a bad year due to injuries, IMHO. I hope he can start next year off healthy and stay that way......

I could not face the thought of reading the Thomas article this morning... I knew it would be depressing. Well, I finally read it and it was worse that I thought. Loved the concept that a second round pick with a huge bonus amount has to adjust financially. When ARE, whose job you are trying to take, tells you that you have to study that is saying something. I really don't know but I will assume that at MSU he did not have to study too much, or adjust to life away from home too much. It seems that the maturing process was delayed about 4 years. It reminds me of the Wizards and Kwawme Brown.

Can't remember where I read it this AM, but there was a comment in an article about MK coming to camp with "an injury the Redskins knew about."

And I thought...yep, that's our front office.

I've never been more serious about anything in my life...I will be there with a "FIRE VINNY" sign on Sunday.

I invite anyone else who give a f about this team to do the same.

Funny thing is...i am not a Philly fan, but that fact is, they are going to kick the Redskins' asses. Simple as that. Say whatever you want about their fans....who cares. They don't play the games, just like you dreamers on here don't play. The Redskins have sucked since the late 90's, yet every week, you all say the same crap. It is as simple as Vinny and Dan - If they stay, you have no chance. Period.

Wow Po you really told me. How does it feel though that your team was beat by the self-described "Worst Coach in America"? Yeah the Redskins are in the midst of a nearly 2 decades-long funk. But when the Iggles had a great team for the first half of this decade, they have no Lombardi trophies to show for it. Sucks to be rooting for your team.

The Redskins will always have their glory days to reflect on. The Eagles only have that bright shining moment when they became the Steagles in 1943.
