Portis to Play; Springs Out

Shawn Springs will not be active tonight, according to a team source, with the Redskins dressing four running backs - Clinton Portis, Ladell Betts, Shaun Alexander and Rock Cartwright. Springs is recovering from a calf tear.

Will have the rest of the inactives shortly.

Allright, so it's a "tear".....anyone want to bet he's out for at least another 3 weeks?

Don't like to hear it, but not unexpected.

I'm betting he'll be back for the Giants game...not sooner....that's my hope at least.

Oh yeah, and how in the HE11 did we lose to the god-awful rams? What a let down....couple good games going on now though.....

If Hall holds up Springs is gone.

Clinton Portis is a warrior! Why can't Sean Springs suck it up the same way?
De Angleo Hall will have a chance to show his stuff on D and special teams. I think this was a good signing and he will grow as a person and player with this team.

Kick some butt tonight guys!

And like 7 million in salary cap room....

Carlos did a great job on TO last time, TO complained about not getting the ball yet the ball came his way 18 times.

I hope CP doesn't play too much. He plays hard and with the cold weather, don't want him to make it any worse. Betts is definitely a capable Backup when healthy.

As for the Rams, off the bye week was the only time they had Steven Jackson reasonably healthy... he didn't kill us, but without him it's been 'tee off on Bulger' -- which in this league is a death sentence.
