Portis Update
He's in full uniform taking part in the pre-game stretches with teammates ... but doing so with no socks on and in sneakers/tennis shoes/cross-trainers/whatever you call them where you live (in East Baltimore where I came up, everything was "tennis shoes").
Anywho, everyone else is in cleats, etc. But he is going through drills.
UPDATE: During some walk-through stuff, Betts was with the first-team offense, but Portis was still on the field)
So, again, make of that what you will.

But seriously, it's fine for CP to take the preseason games off, but I hope he's contact-ready for the opener. Even if his footwork and speed is fine, I worry that he's taken no contact all summer.

Ditto the tennis shoes thing in NW DC in my youth. Strangely enough, I now call them sneakers, which I think started once "tennis shoes" began turning into a specific classification (about college for me)

fair enough, but the whole injury is a fraud. cover so he doesnt have to play in the preseason he hates so much. he will be ready
