Post-Practice Update

Portis says he is still unsure of when he will practice next. Said his knee still "flares up" when he cuts and turns, but is repsonding well to new stretching exercises, and the bulk of his treatment is now more based around stretching, rather than weight work like last week,

Portis said he does not know much more work he will be able to take next week. Coach Joe says he remains encouraged by the reports he is getting on Clinton. Portis will travel with the team to Nashville so that everybody's favorite orthopedic, James Andrews, can evaluate him again. They believe everything is headed in the right direction.

Again, as I've said, I tend to think this is a bigger deal than some out there. He's missed two weeks of practice. I don't see anyway he would play in a preseason game until the thrid game, and that might be pushing it.

The wide reciever is out again with shin splints. Did not practice and Coach joe made it sound like he'd be resting for the weekend and not playing to try to get this thing over with. Can't imagine CB Butler (hamstring) playing either.

WR James Thrash suffered a groin injury that Gibbs said is not severe. He took limited work. DL Ryan Boschetti is being limited by a quad injury. TE Tyler Ecker (groin) might never play at this point. DL Vaka Manupuna (quad) was
still out from the injury he suffered in the Wed. night practice.

DT Joe Salave'a missed a bit of practice to get some medical attention but returned and took part in 11-on-11 drills.
LT Chris Samuels (knee) remains out and DE Bryant Shaw (heat related) has been limited at practice.

Man it sounds like these guys are really not stretching well with all the groin injuries.

They're all sympathizing with L-squared. Jason, are you sure that there aren't any paintball activities going on at camp?

If any of you take these so called injuries serious your crazy...Its nothing more then save energy and rest for the long haul excuses...It's so obvious at this point...think about it...all the off season work and OTAs when the door is closed etc nobody was hurt but now they seem to not go to the bathroom without burning...give me a break this is sooo obvious!

How much muscle/weight did bLloyd put on during the offseason? Are we sure it was just steaks for breakfast and not syringe fed?

David Boston is a prefect example of what happens when a player (read: moron) tries to bulk up and ends up way too large for his frame. Normal routines can cause serious knee and leg issues.

JLA,

Please, please, please don't join the ranks of the non-sensical news reporters who seem to feel the need to name-drop the "famed" orthopedist Dr. James Andrews...I don't why the sport-reporting world seems to think the public cares who Dr. James Andrews is or that he is "famed"

James Andrews is everywhere. I think he might actually be more of a concept than an actual person. Kind of like the dread pirate Roberts.
