R. Thomas Out with Triceps Injury

Redskins right guard Randy Thomas injured his right triceps and is out for the remainder of the game. He will be replaced by Will Montgomery, a third-year player from Virginia Tech.

Thomas had neck surgery in the offseason, and his health was one of the reasons the Redskins felt good about their first-team offensive line going into the season. Montgomery is in his first season with the Redskins.

Horton didn't miss the tackle. "Dirty 30" missed it. The announcers called it wrong.

JC.. thats how you do it, in the Red Zone.

3-2-WAS 2(4:00) M.Bulger pass short left to L.Robinson for 2 yards, Touchdown.

Zorn's job is on the line today....

This team was deflated when they got the penalty negating the turnover.

Posted by: rickyroge | September 20, 2009 2:07 PM | Report abuse

All right, time for a 79 yd drive for an 11-yd FG

Posted by: frediefritz | September 20, 2009 2:07 PM | Report abuse

I think we can all agree that Mike Shanahan would have batted that touchdown pass away, Bill Cowher would have caught the deflection and lateraled to Mike Holmgren who would have sprinted into the endzone for a pick six.

Just plain, Redskins football! I don't know how this keeps happening.

Apparently, Blache didn't listen to Zorn. 3 3rd down passes completed b/c of cushion from the DBs... Who is running this team?

No wonder teams can't wait to play the Skins. With Campbell under center, all the opposing team has to do is score a touchdown or two. Campbell has nice stats (sometimes) but can't get his team a score. Not a leader, not a good quarterback. Bench him and get someone else in there.

Posted by: jiacinto | September 20, 2009 2:13 PM | Report abuse

The ruling earlier that there is no penalty for pass interference since the ball was not catchable has never made any sense to me.

It should not be the QB's responsibility to figure out whether his receiver is covered legally or illegally. If a receiver is covered then the QB should not throw it to him, period.

It makes absolutely no sense that a defender can illegally interfere with a receiver thus causing the QB to throw it away.

Make sense to anyone else?

Zorn may get fired today, but we'll still be stuck with over-hyped average talent players and a D that isn't as good as they think they are. Blache should get a pink slip too if they fire Zorn.

Posted by: hock1 | September 20, 2009 2:28 PM | Report abuse

This is a fundamentally flawed team who plays down to the level of competition. They look good driving between the 20's but in the red zone, the little miscues always, ALWAYS mess them up. They'll probably lose this game.
