If the Redskins can stop them here on third down and limit the Saints to a fg, I really like our chances :) Wouldn't that be something. 3-8 Redskins knock off the 11-0 Saints.

How 'bout a nice little 6 minute drive to end the game?
Posted by: rachel216 | December 6, 2009 3:56 PM | Report abuse
We need a 7:00 drive to end the game right here.

Victory drive right here. Let's go skins.
Posted by: TWISI | December 6, 2009 3:57 PM | Report abuse
good good. holding them to a FG evens out the fact that we didnt get a TD near the goal-line last time. now all we need is a time-consuming scoring drive and hopefully it'll become an insurmountable 2-score lead.
Posted by: kman2 | December 6, 2009 3:57 PM | Report abuse
I'd like to see 30 celebrate after a int, FF, FR, sack, or 3rd down stop.
Not after a 1st or 2nd down stop.
Ok 30, do your thing

nothing wrong with that. Zorn needed to learn from someone. I would like to see him get some tough guys on his coaching staff.

They should've took at least one shot into the endzone to put the game away. I know they want to run time off the clock but they're expecting to run. I knew we couldn't run it in. I can't believe Suisham. That's unexcusable. Any kicker should have absolutely no problem hitting that.

MKadyman
They just showed the replay. The snap wasn't perfect but it was good enough. It was certainly not "almost over the holder's head". BS. The hold was placed down. We're talking about an extra point here. Suisham is a choker. After the Dallas game, and now this, we have every reason to be calling for a new kicker. No one is an "idiot" for calling him out.

Posted by: TWISI | December 6, 2009 4:55 PM | Report abuse
I wonder if it occurred to Zorn that he was icing his own kicker by making Suisham kick right after the 2:00 warning. Also, when there's a questionable play, like a fumble that doesn't get called, get to the line and run a play! Zorn is the machinery through which these types of decisions must run, and he is far too stupid to account for everything that goes into a football game. Good luck finding a job teaching throwing mechanics.
Posted by: crashinghero | December 6, 2009 4:55 PM | Report abuse
Jason Campbell was not a goat this game idiot!
Goats in order:
Laron Landry - wasn't even in the same zip code for two touchdowns.
Shawn Suisham - should have never come to that but still inexcusable.
Kareen Moore - one of the dumbest plays I've seen in a long time.
Fred Smoot - burned for about 300 yards passing per usual actually a little worse than usual.
No whining about refs. They got every call right after review.

This is the worst, most blatant fixing of a game I have ever seen. Yes it is ridiculous that Suisham missed and we probably would have lost either way, but was I the only one who heard the ref repeatedly blow the whistle like 50 times as soon as Sellers hit the ground. That means the play is dead and cant be overturned. Its a clear and simple rule. For some reason the announcers didn't even mention it which I thought was pretty fishy right away, and then they overturn it? Someone explain how this could happen. There are cameras out there, its not like we didn't see what happened. Someone explain how thats legal? I am so confused and I expected us to lose in OT but to see an NFL game be blatantly fixed like that is something I have never witness and makes me sad for this sport. Someone tell me I was hallucinating all 50 of those whistles to kill the play.

Posted by: JCB9 | December 6, 2009 5:00 PM | Report abuse
Well, if I had to pick one play, it's the missed FG (a short one too) that would have essentially iced it - it would have been a 10-point lead and NO had no timeouts left.
So Suisham is to blame.
And yes, I'd cut him tomorrow. Clutch kicking is something you either have or don't have, and he doesn't have it.
Posted by: MrRedskin21 | December 6, 2009 5:01 PM | Report abuse
@crashing,
Yeah, the details just seem to escape him every time. He called two timeouts he should not have and then they didn't have them hurry up to line and snap it. He looks as lost as the team on the sideline. But, not his fault really. It's the dumbasses that hired him. He just said ok.
Kind of game that losers lose. We are losers!

I guess it's 'D' for me TWISI. Because I don't know why in regulation they chose to run it THREE times with about five yards out. I mean, at least take a shot at the end zone to go up by 14. I mean, you're 3-8, why the f__k not?!?!

I completely agree. In OT the reviews are suppose to come from the booth. The refs weren't going to review it until after the skins sanpped the ball and NO was granted a TO.
There can be no challenge and the refs shouldn't review a play beacuse a coach says so and then give them the TO back.

Posted by: DCXNTX | December 6, 2009 5:09 PM | Report abuse
It's kind of easy to score by who was responsible for the most points either against or for.
Laron Landry - 14 pts.
Kareem Moore - 7 pts.
Shawn Suisham - 3 pts.
Mike Sellers - 3 pts.
Why is Smoot still in the NFL? Has he ever prevented a pass from being completed? I guess he just makes sure they are not 50 yarders most of the time. He leaves that to Landry.
Finally, just when I regain some respect for Campbell bc of toughness and gutting things out, he proves to me that he is just a loser. He is the guy that plays ok and is talented, but just doesn't have "it". He has as blank a stare as Zorn and they are both losers. Anyway, they deserved to lose again!
Posted by: rphilli721 | December 6, 2009 5:11 PM | Report abuse
Downtownclown-Haynesworth failure to rush is easily explained though. His leg injury. Though in that case he should have been out. Montgomery, Alexander and Daniels could have played at defensive tackle
Posted by: barnett2 | December 6, 2009 5:23 PM | Report abuse
Say what you want the NFL is fixed and this proves it. The NFL wants a story line. They want an undefeated team. They want people to watch the game. On paper the Skins have no chance, so suddenly interest is high, everyone is watching, but they find a way to manipulate the game to get the outcome that they want.
Don't kid yourself, it was a joke. So much money involved. Fixed. Rigged outcomes.

The Skins have to shed themselves of this loser mentality. The team can't seem to deal with any kind of success. Every time something good happens, somebody on the team does something else to screw it all up. I agree with the guy that said Smoot never prevents a catch! We can never cover the receiver when we NEED to make a stop. We can never get to the QB when we NEED to make a stop. We can never get into FG range when we NEED to make a score or make the kick when we get there. Nobody can make a play when we NEED it. Losers! I am just beside myself over this damn game.
