Some of ya'll were wondering about Tom Tupa's whereabouts - given the state of the Redskins' punting game since he disappeared - and I'm here to please. Remember, I work for you guys, so keep the suggestions and comments coming. Anway, Tupa was put on IR last summer after slipping and hurting his back in a freak accident. According to his agent, Neil Cornrich, he has not punted since. He has not formally retired but is still unable to make any sort of comeback, and, as part of the over-40 gang, this is probably it. "Physically, he's still not able to do it," Cornrich said. "It's just one of those things." ...

Actually heard Dan Patrick and Joey T. taking about the Style article poking fun at Kornheiser/Fahri rift in Wednesday paper, and boy, they should stick to the Sports page. They took it seriously, thought the essay took gratuitous shots at TK, and we're all up in arms about it. What a crusade. It's called parody, boys. Tongue in cheek. Dan, please don't hurt yourself anymore. Stick to babbling about TO, it suits you. I think years of copious helpings of hair spray have wrecked what thought process you had left ...

So this much be what's it like to cover Chelsea (the football team, not the Clinton)? The team you report on is linked to every free agent imaginable, spends crazy money, is constantly making moves and is a rumor-monger's dream. I know it's fun for the fans, but man, it keeps ya busy on this end. Nice start to the EPL season. Gotta love Reading, coming back from two goals down to Boro with two Yanks starting. I think they could be this year's Wigan, only with offense the forte and not the clean sheets ...

Cooley says he did his on-line fantasy football draft last night, and ended up not being able to draft himself. He went in the sixth round, a few picks before the real life Cooley was ready to pounce on his fantasy alter-ego.
