Redskins, Chiefs tied at 6 after 3 quarters
There was a huge surprise when the Redskins jogged onto the field to start the second half, with backup quarterback Todd Collins taking over for Campbell.
Greeted with a large ovation, Collins' first play of the game was a 42-yard strike to Santana Moss, but the big play would be after a penalty pushed Washington back and the Redskins eventually settled for a 40-yard field goal to tie the game at three.
Kansas City moved down to the Redskins 36-yard line before stalling and punting, pinning Washington at its own 12-yard line.
Washington's next play would be a big one, however, as Clinton Portis broke down the left sideline for a 78-yard gain before being tackled at the Chiefs' 10-yard line. Three straight incompletions, however, kept the Redskins out of the end zone and they settled for a 28-yard field goal from Shaun Suisham to take a 6-3 lead.
Kansas City responded immediately. Passes of eight and 20-yards on consecutive plays moved the Chiefs into Washington territory, and another 20-yard pass from Cassel to Dwayne Bowe moved the Chiefs to the Redskins 24-yard line.
On a crucial third down and 5 from the Washington 19-yard line, however, Andre Carter got his second sack of the game, forcing Kansas City to settle for a field goal to tie the game at six.
It was the first time in Carter's career that he has registered consecutive two-sack performances after registering 2.5 sacks last week at Carolina.

So the switch to Todd Collins was ineffective. JC couldn't have played any worse.
But here's another way to lose a game for the Skins: Collins takes his eye off the snap and fumbles it, resulting in a terrible punt with a nice return. If there's a way to give a game away, the Skins will find it.

Can it possibly be that we have not upgraded the offense in the last five years except for Derrick Dockery and 2wr and te that havent panned out or is it really Zorn's fault.

THis is a new low in Redskins history. It is hard to beleive what is unfolding. This is the worst Redskin team ever. These are not the worst players ever, this is just the worst team ever. What we learn year after year is something that the front office can't or will not, good players do not always equal a good team. Good leadership, chemistry and a front office that know's how to let go of things equal winning teams.

Skins need someone other than Rock back there returning kicks. They need some speed, not a guy who just runs into a mass of football players.
And there's a safety. That's new, too.
The play calling is awful, yes. But the O-line is atrocious (on Vinny and Snyder) and the wide receivers, even Santana, are uninterested and terrible route runners (on Vinny and Snyder). So yeah, Zorn will go, probably after this game. But Snyder and Vinny are fooling themselves if they think this is anyone else's fault but their own. Best thing Snyder could do now (aside from selling the team) is to fire Vinny after this game, as well.

GOOD GOD. Let me say this again. JZ HAS NO EARTHLY IDEA WHAT THE H HE IS DOING. He is totally incompetent. He should be fired at the end game press conference. Or have some dignity and just resign.
We should try and get Chase Daniel back and start him for the rest of the season. It won't make us better, but it will probably ensure that we have a top draft pick. Start scouting Tackles, Guards, Centers, and Corners. Trade whoever on our team can garner draft picks: Laron Landry, maybe?

So Todd the Great couldn't pull it off. As I've said before it does nothing to help this team by switching the QB. The problem on Sundays starts with the HC, the play calling etc. If they are crazy enough to start TC against the Eagles watch out. The Eagles will have a week to prepare for him, and given the deficiencies of the OL, Todd will not have a chance.

I guess TC WAS the answer huh? Stupid...LoL...I hope we put that to rest.

"you started throwing out all the same stuff we did when JC wasn't getting it done. needs more time? what does he need several weeks for, to get in a rhythm? get on the same page as the receivers? quit saying those arguments are weak when they're about JC and then use them to defend someone else is all I'm sayin"
let me know where you get confused....cuz, I'm moving on, have fun arguing with yourself...

I want to apologize to everyone on the WaPo blogs for my insanely optimistic predictions for the 2009 Redskins. I could not have been any more wrong. Please feel free to tee off on me, I deserve it.
I will be taking some time off from the blogs except to continue to apologize and occasionally respond to comments that are addressed to me.
I still love the Redskins with all my heart, but I'm not okay right now.
Take care.

Redskins fans:
FACT - This team is the worst team in the NFL - bar none. I know some will say no it's gotta be the Raiders - haha not so much. Oakland beats the Skins later this year.
Washington - worst team in the NFL. NOBODY will convince me otherwise.
Hail. AHHHHH screw it. HELLLLLLLLL.

As bad as this O-Line might look, this is bigger than the O-line, Jim Zorn will never get a HCing job again, and he never should have gotten this one.
Yawl' talking about Danny getting out of the way, Hell, I pray that he knows how to pick somebody that will know what the hey he is doing.
And by the way, you JC haters, you can shut up now.

After Gibbs left this team needed a complete overhaul.
But they thought they could get by with tinkering at the margins.
Vinny, Vinny, Vinny.
Now they need a complete overhaul but they have 11 games to go.
This could really get ugly. I mean expansion type ugly.

You guys don't get it.
It's not JC.
It's not Todd Collins.
It's bigger than both.
Of course, you guys can continue to beat your heads over those two.
And as I said, I don't care who the starting QB is anymore. It's the guy talking into his helmet that needs to be gone. Immediately.

I can understand why Zorn pulled JC. He was desperate and looking for something, anything, to spark the offense. And, it did work to some extent, as they did managed to get six points. But Todd Collins is not the answer, and ultimately it's going to make no difference. I don't think having Todd play will win the Redskins more games. I think the Redskins have reached desperation and are going to try anything.
Problem is, the first thing the Redskins need to do to be competitive again is to put together a good offensive line. Firing Zorn, hiring Gruden, firing Vinny...none of it will make the Redskins instant competitors. That won't happen until they have an o-line. Some of the things I mentioned might help, but they won't be the cure.

So...Let's review from earlier today:
So what's it gonna be today?
Is Heyer, playing at his "natural position" going to stay off his back for once?
On his back. Thanks for the safety - and he was also offsides on that play
Is the newly stitched together O line gonna plow the road?
Nope
Will our running game dominate the field?
Nope. One good run. It will be interesting to see CP's stats - especially what he did besides his one run...
Will Kelly and DT have more than two catches for 7 yards?
Nope. Sad
Will the D get some turn-overs, score some points or set up the O?
Uhhh, nope.
Will special teams deliver a score or a big run-back to set one up?
Nope.
Will the Skins pin back their ears and bust up the chef's like we know they should, or will they goo out there once again looking lost and frustrated and muddle their way to 11 points and hope the other teams incompetence will deliver the day?
You got it. Although the D's effort today was pretty good. Good pressure and all...
What's it gonna be today?
A Crapfest...

I hear mr tony traded in the bandwagon back in August during Clash for Clunkers but the govt told him he had to pay them for the bandwagon!
At least back in 60's when the Skin's were pathetic they at least for fun with Sonny. Now they are just bad.
I am sure Flounder 21 will have some encouraging words. I hear is new job as Danny's flluffer is going really well! V inny gives him high praise.
Now Flounder before you respond wipe that sperm cocktail off your chin!

I cant believe we lost to a team with a kicker SUCKUP. Fire Zorn, and tech Hall how to tackle. He looks like he's tackling a 2 year old.

Comcast reporting that sources reporting "Gruden is not coming here with out a proven starting QB, the Mikes will not come here unless we fire Vinny", well firing vinny is easier then finding a star QB.

It all started in the offseason when Danny and Vinny openly courted other QB's thus undermining any confidence Jason had and making JZ a lame duck coach(who should not have been hired in the first place) and then the draft not addressing the most glaring weakness(the O-line). The front office is inept(SURPRISE) certain players are not required to practice and the defense(the only squad worth a krap)is hung out to dry every Sunday by an impotent offense. This team is obviously in bad shape(that is an understatement) a coaching change would not be wise,no matter how badly it is needed because until the culture is changed and the next coach has full authority it won't make a difference.
