Rogers' future with Redskins is out of his hands

While much of the speculation has centered around the futures of Coach Jim Zorn and quarterback Jason Campbell, there are plenty of other men in the Redskins' locker room who might have been playing for the last time in burgundy and gold.

Only a half-dozen players have guaranteed contracts for next year, and General Manager Bruce Allen will have a lot of flexibility in deciding which players return for next season. If next season is uncapped, cornerback Carlos Rogers, the team's first-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, will be a restricted free agent. Looking back over the past five seasons, he said, "I can't complain about too much."

While fellow cornerback DeAngelo Hall has guaranteed money for next season, Rogers said he's been given no indications whether he's a part of the team's plans. "It's something I can't control," he said. "It's not my hands."

Rogers said he'll look back on the 2009 with mixed feelings, trying to focus on the good times.

"I think of the bad times, too, what we shoulda, coulda, what happened," he said. "I look at all of it -- the treatment around here, things that have been going on -- I just kind of look at all of it. Laugh at some things, be like, 'dang,' at some other stuff. But we had a good time throughout all of the badness."

Why not hire Mike Zimmer as HC instead of a re-tread?

Since when did having something in your hands mean you have control of it?

You need to read other's posts before posting your "corrections".

You need to mind your own business before posting.

I was posting mine as the same time he was posting his. Did you yell at Skinsfaninkehone too?

Calm down, blog nazi.

ya see Red, times have changed b/c b4, the "in-thing" was to play the race card on every avenue! For sum reason*wink* I don't ever hear Asians or Hispanics complaining about their lack of head coaches etc. Why is that? African Americans aren't the only minorities, Ya know.

Quite simply if playing the race card is unwarranted, then those being accused of racism will play the reverse race card unwarranted. Ya see?

No1 here is saying the Rooney Rule is unfair/racist b/c they don't want to see a minority coach.

If I have to explain to you how anyone getting an interview b/c of his/her race is unfair, then TheCork is right and you ain't too bright.

Posted by: Vicc

Did Cork get you a new bib and some knee-pads for Christmas?

Another jackass RI poster who wants to co-sign and nut-hug other posters instead of just say what the f_ck they have to say...

Let me ask you some questions: On a percentage basis, how many black players make up the NFL? I'm willing to bet if you were to poll the number of African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and Asian-Americans, there would be NO DOUBT the larger number of minority Americans who follow the NFL will be in favor of the African-American community.

The thing is, there isn't enough of a following from the Asian-American and Hispanic-American community for them to actually care.

Isn't ironic that among the players who play in the NFL over 60% are black and only 22% are African-American coaches?

And don't even get me going on the NCAA.

So how about you s*it can the lame ass sarcasm and just say what the f_ck you gotta say?

As for: "if playing the race card is unwarranted, then those being accused of racism will play the reverse race card unwarranted." is straight bulls_it.

How the hell do you know if it's unwarranted or not? How do you know who on RI is saying that the Rooney Rule is unfair or racist because they don't want to see a minority head coach?

Goes to show how many posts you actually read up here. There are some, but not all, people who don't like Jason Campbell simply because he is black. I know because I've read some of these post form the ignorant bastards.

"Rogers' future with Redskins is out of his hands"

Obviously.

But no matter how much folks hate on L Landry and C Rogers, I think they'll be on the team next season.

It's the redskin offense that needs the overhaul.

Landry and Rogers need to go. DeAngelo Hall should also go. The whole secondary corps needs to be replaced.

With who? 5 picks and a bunch of 30 yr old FAs...

Blache needs to go and will. There's talent on the D, just not with the current coaching staff.

Blache bend but don't break defense sucks. Part of the reason the offense can not get on the field is because the defense cannot get off. Were there any three and outs today for the Chargers?
