Roll Call

Now that we just might be back up and running, I wanted to get in touch with you guys and take an informal poll of where everyone is. For instance, if we ever wanted to have a pub crawl, how many of you guys other than our established West Coast contingent - Diddy and out Seattle guys - could make it?

Was wondering if Meg was the only female, and the general whereabouts of the regulars? I know we've got peeps in China and Singapore. Anywhere else?
I fully expect a bunch of you will have a fair amount of fun with this, and I fully expect it, but now that we're a few months into this little exercise, Cindy and I were kind of wondering where our posse was rolling in from.

Randoms: Got an email from our man Bucktown the other day urging me to take suggestions for the most creative fantasy football team names. Who am I not to go along? He sent me a hilarious logo for his team, but if I posted it here I'd probably lose my job. Just not worth it ... Saw a bunch of comments about what I was wearing Monday. How did you guys see it? There weren't many camera crews out there that day. Was it on the web or something? Man, now I've got something else to worry about. Was running around with Chloe that morning and ended up scrambling out the door in whatever I had on. Between the grammar police and the fashion police, I'm doomed ... I know I said this last week, but I want to reiterate my intense hatred for all things Volkswagen after sinking $500 more into my piece of junk Jetta ...

Finally caught up on the first three episodes of The Wire. If you don't want this show you need to. This season, and the plight of West Baltimore's kids, is going to be the most gripping stuff yet, and that's saying something for what has been the best show in TV for years now. One of the first shots of the season, a look at the outside of Carcetti's campaign headquarters, was on Conklin Street in Highlandtown, the neighborhood I was born and raised in and where much of my family still lives. You could see the sign of my Aunt Carol's hair salon, which is right next door the Chateau Carcetti, in the shot.
