Chad Simpson injured during warm-up

By Rick Maese

For the second week in a row, the Redskins lost a running back before the game even began.

Chad Simpson suffered a foot injury during pregame warm-ups. Though he was included on the active roster, he will not be available for the Redskins against the Titans.

Last week, Ryan Torain injured his hamstring during warm-ups and could not play against the Eagles.

Simpson is the third Redskins player this year to hurt himself during pregame warm-ups. Punter Josh Bidwell injured his hip against St. Louis and couldn't play against the Rams.

Simpson suffered the injury Sunday after coaches had already included him on their list of active players. He would have been the Redskins third running back. Clinton Portis started and rookie Keiland Williams is his backup.

Simpson still does not have a carry this year. He was used as a kick returner but was replaced in that role by rookie Brandon Banks in recent weeks.

The bad luck that follows Snyder and this team is just amazing.

Posted by: stevie_in_gp | November 21, 2010 1:26 PM | Report abuse

We're inept at all three phases now. Offense, Defense, and now Special Teams (22 YD punt, illegal formation, TD)

Not a catch by Moss.

There is nothing to like about this team.

Posted by: Diesel44 | November 21, 2010 1:28 PM | Report abuse

That's a catch and fumble!

Posted by: ga8085 | November 21, 2010 1:30 PM | Report abuse

Diesel, fights, who won?

Posted by: scampbell1975 | November 21, 2010 1:31 PM | Report abuse

Penn beat Hughes easily and in under a min.
Rampage won by decision over Machida.

Posted by: Diesel44 | November 21, 2010 1:33 PM | Report abuse

Wow, this drive is good, and we converted a 3rd down.

Posted by: MyPostIDisAfake | November 21, 2010 1:34 PM | Report abuse

yeh - Moss cant' catch a cold... hehe.

Wil Mont. for Full Time Center! hehe.

CP re-injured?

Posted by: stevie_in_gp | November 21, 2010 1:36 PM | Report abuse

Rabach OUT, Doc in and Monty at C.

Sounds good to me.

Posted by: Diesel44 | November 21, 2010 1:36 PM | Report abuse

Nice drive. The O-line is actually playing well and Williams and Portis are running hard.

Posted by: NosferatusCoffin | November 21, 2010 1:36 PM | Report abuse

Nice drive! Give McNabb a decent amount of time, and the offense can get it done.

Posted by: ga8085 | November 21, 2010 1:37 PM | Report abuse

CP better not be out.........

Bummer on the Machida fight. I liked him...not so much that mongoloid Jackson.

Posted by: scampbell1975 | November 21, 2010 1:37 PM | Report abuse

I hate to wish a injury for anybody but losing Rabach may be the best thing to happen to us on the line

Posted by: PardenMiSwage | November 21, 2010 1:37 PM | Report abuse

Injuries are piling up. WTF, can't catch a break

Posted by: Devo2 | November 21, 2010 1:39 PM | Report abuse

Nice play, Fletch! Forced a punt.

Posted by: NosferatusCoffin | November 21, 2010 1:40 PM | Report abuse

Not if nobody else can make the calls.

And where is Portis now. Saw him on the trainer table on the end of the last drive

Posted by: Devo2 | November 21, 2010 1:41 PM | Report abuse

Gotta love Keiland. Glad I picked him up for my FF team a couple of weeks ago.

Posted by: NosferatusCoffin | November 21, 2010 1:42 PM | Report abuse

Nice drive followed by a three and out by the D. Almost looked like a Pro Football Team.

Posted by: kerzon417 | November 21, 2010 1:43 PM | Report abuse

Damn holding call.

Posted by: scampbell1975 | November 21, 2010 1:44 PM | Report abuse

Penalties, ugh. If we can pull this one off then I go with my opinion that last week was a perfect storm that we couldn't have avoided.

We'll see?

Posted by: Devo2 | November 21, 2010 1:44 PM | Report abuse

Nice move Doc, want to be active, can't do that.

Posted by: kerzon417 | November 21, 2010 1:45 PM | Report abuse

Wow. For once, Galloway does something.

Posted by: NosferatusCoffin | November 21, 2010 1:45 PM | Report abuse

I guess Gallowat decided he beter catch something or his healthcare coverage was going to expire.

Posted by: scampbell1975 | November 21, 2010 1:46 PM | Report abuse

Did I just see Joey Galloway catch a 20-yard pass on 3rd down?

Posted by: MyPostIDisAfake | November 21, 2010 1:46 PM | Report abuse

Galloway is smart. He dives to the ground before the ball from McNabb gets there.

Posted by: Personal_Fowl | November 21, 2010 1:46 PM | Report abuse

Geriatric Galloway - Awesmoe!

Posted by: DikShuttle | November 21, 2010 1:46 PM | Report abuse

The old man showing up! I'm pleased with the first quarter. Hopefully then can sustain this for 4 quarters

Posted by: ga8085 | November 21, 2010 1:47 PM | Report abuse

Ok Joey got his 1 catch a game. Time to throw one of the kids in to see what happens.

Posted by: alex35332 | November 21, 2010 1:47 PM | Report abuse

ha good job grandpa... gave us a 3rd down conversion.. and a LONG one at that.. lookin pretty decent... lets play all 4 quarters today fellas

Posted by: SteveOman | November 21, 2010 1:48 PM | Report abuse

I still don't like Galloway on this team. At least he caught this one.

Posted by: Devo2 | November 21, 2010 1:48 PM | Report abuse

Man, the O-Line is playing like a pro line should play. For once.

Uh oh, Dock down.

Posted by: NosferatusCoffin | November 21, 2010 1:49 PM | Report abuse

Really? Another freaking injury to the offensive line? Come on man. Something aint right

Posted by: Devo2 | November 21, 2010 1:50 PM | Report abuse

Derrick Dockery is in. O-line protects. Now he's injured.

DAMNIT.

Posted by: MyPostIDisAfake | November 21, 2010 1:51 PM | Report abuse

Injuries piling up. There looks to be something wrong with the field.

Posted by: Diesel44 | November 21, 2010 1:51 PM | Report abuse

Are the Skins about to put in a TE at Guard?

Posted by: stevie_in_gp | November 21, 2010 1:51 PM | Report abuse

Is anyone from Bubba Tyers' staff still on this team..? 'cause it sure seems like it..

Posted by: DikShuttle | November 21, 2010 1:51 PM | Report abuse

Put Haney at OG or OT.

No, seriously...

Posted by: Personal_Fowl | November 21, 2010 1:51 PM | Report abuse

can anyone else get hurt today?

Posted by: sweetsweetlou | November 21, 2010 1:51 PM | Report abuse

This shed more light on the DUMBEST rule in the NFL: 53 players are paid but only 47 can play. This fu*ked up rule needs to change.

Posted by: stevie_in_gp | November 21, 2010 1:51 PM

Paulsen will move to T and 77 to G.

That shovel pass was a thing of beauty!

Posted by: scampbell1975 | November 21, 2010 1:55 PM | Report abuse

When it comes to picking on Heyer, I usually lead the charge, but he might not be half bad a Guard. This is not the end of the world...yet.

Did not like that call. A dive play in a jumbo formation is not likely to work.

Posted by: NosferatusCoffin | November 21, 2010 1:56 PM | Report abuse

That was horrible call. That play neve works. Scrap that from the Playbook and never draw it up AGAIN.

Posted by: Devo2 | November 21, 2010 1:56 PM | Report abuse

Maybe we can just cut Haney after the game and leave him in TN. I know they'd save a ton on fuel coming home with him not on the plane.

Posted by: Personal_Fowl | November 21, 2010 1:56 PM | Report abuse

Probably the worst Play call all year.

After the penalty...Go for it here.

Posted by: Diesel44 | November 21, 2010 1:57 PM | Report abuse

WHY WHY WHY do you run up the middle on 3rd and goal with this O line?

Posted by: edvar | November 21, 2010 1:57 PM | Report abuse

Triple posted me...ugh. I guess one for each point on that drive.

Posted by: scampbell1975 | November 21, 2010 1:57 PM | Report abuse

Forgot both Heyer and Brown are active today, Dies.

I try to forget about Heyer as much as possible.

Terrible play-calling after the shovel.

Posted by: sweetsweetlou | November 21, 2010 1:58 PM | Report abuse

That hand-off to Sellers was STUPID.

I have a feeling Daddy told Kyle to call that play.

Posted by: MyPostIDisAfake | November 21, 2010 1:58 PM | Report abuse

That was an ugly 3rd down play. But you gotta think that the O line shuffling affected the play calling and the Skins potentially going for it on 4th after the offsides.

Posted by: ga8085 | November 21, 2010 1:58 PM | Report abuse

When there are 22 players in a very small area of the field, it's not wise to run up the middle

Posted by: kingpenn1 | November 21, 2010 1:58 PM | Report abuse

beep beep

Who's our conditioning coach? He should be taking gas by now...

Posted by: DeployedFan | November 21, 2010 2:04 PM | Report abuse

If Tom Brady and Peyton Manning switched teams, the Colts would lose ever game. The Patriots would only lose when Manning choked... which is like twice a year.

Manning > Brady.

No Contest.

Posted by: Thinker_ | November 21, 2010 5:33 PM | Report abuse

Manning to... Blair White?

(Not of Facts Of Life fame)

WTF? The guy is pretty amazing.

Now, it's the time of the game... Either Manning does it, or he chokes.

Toss up, right now.

Posted by: Thinker_ | November 21, 2010 6:51 PM | Report abuse

AND...

The Choke.

In field goal range.

That hurts.

Posted by: Thinker_ | November 21, 2010 7:06 PM | Report abuse

down by a point in the 4th quarter.

Vick will demonstrate why he is a coward. No more running, no extending plays. Get rid of the ball fast, whether it's a good play or not.

Watch. I've seen it his whole career. The guy is a coward.

Which is all the more hypocritical when you consider "dogs" like him are the kind he loathed the most and murdered in creatively sadistic ways.

I guess "The NEW Vick" is STILL a coward. Disappears when the game is on the line. Mark my words. Look at his career. Total Coward.
