...and a Scoreless Second Quarter
Wow, was I wrong. The second quarter was even more difficult to digest than the first.
Again, like last week, special teams mistakes are killing the Redskins (Rock Cartwright is a star again, though, making a huge tackle on a return by Joshua Cribbs that might have been heading to the house).
Shaun Suisham's run of field-goal accuracy is over with that miss from 36 at the half. Jason Campbell still does not look right to me, as evidence on that slip inside the red zone at the end of the half.
Everything about this game is brutal right now, save for the ability of the Redskins to run the ball. Given whatever Campbell is going through, I'd try to ride Portis to an ugly win.

Let's ride CP, then give the rock to Rock, and then let's give Alexander a few times!

I agree with JLC, maybe give JC a chance to throw on 2nd and 3rd from time to time but I don't expect much of him. May want to trick play them with El at QB or something.

I don't like this at all. I think the holding by the punter was off for the FG. Anyone see anything about that?

We should have kept Brooks!

Still think that most of this is about play calling. Zorn should have gone for it on 4th down on the first series.

Is Campbell injured or just inept today? What's going on?

Would a 75 yard TD drive be too much to ask for?

D might need to get a score here since the Offense is unwilling to do that.

Can that be right, that the Skins haven't been scoreless in the first half since 1981? Nation, is it so?

Looks like it. This offense is a work in progress and it seems to have taken a step back today.

If JC is hurting in that groin area from 1st quarter then JZ should put TC or Colt in there.

Second drive killed by a holding penalty.

Okay, they said the last scoreless first half of a Skins game was 1981. That seems reasonable.

He didn't pin them deep even though he had the wind in his face, and now he punts very short.

JC seemed to strain a groin or hammy. He's looking OK. Shaun Rogers nose tackle, is putting a lot of pressure up the middle.

Ah yes Cindy, that makes more sense.

Two Redskins having career years: Carlos Rogers and Clinton Portis. They just keep making plays.

I say just launch it deep if JC can.

in 1981 Gibbs 1.0 second game Giants and Skins played a thrilling first half that ended 0-0.
NYG won 17-7
You recall Gibbs 1.0 lost his first five games and said he wondered if he would finish the season, because he had never been a head coach before that season.

We have run more than 100 yards. When that happens we win most of the games. The key on this drive is to at least get three points.
