Taylor Back in the Game
Jason Taylor, who was dinged on the side of his injured right knee by tackle Jon Stinchcomb, remains on the sideline. Jason La Canfora reports that he is testing the knee, walking gingerly. He is back in the game

When the radio team was coming out of the break, you could hear Sonny saying, "Boy, this offense needs work in the red zone, don't they"?
Posted by: RedskinRay1 | September 14, 2008 2:15 PM | Report abuse
The I is the most balanced formation in football; sucks defenders into the middle, not forgetting the FB up the middle play to keep'em honest(which few teams do anymore). Campbell blows.

I find it hard to believe that ARE is the best punt returner on our team.

i don't know jg. i think the play calling has been awesome. zorn gave all the rope to jc and he didn't do anything with it. and now he's back to not trusting him.

Doc Walker is talking about how Skins play calling is horrible; run w/ no time outs?
We've dominated and are only a FG from losing.
We've attempted 5 FG in first half and have 9 points.

Given where we were last week I do feel better. We're back to our 2007 mid-season form where we have some good stuff and some good stuff and some craptastic plays and then we can't score a TD in the redzone.
Basically we can only go up from last week so yeehaw!
Posted by: sfskin | September 14, 2008 2:34 PM | Report abuse
Since I can't see the game (stuck in Sunny Ft. Lauderdale this weekend, instead of home), I'll take your word on the bad hold, and a 49 yarder is makeable... but what's the deal? We seem to be marching up and down the field all day, New Orleans has done diddly except recovering a fumbled ARE punt, and yet we've not been able to punch in from >4
WTF?

And David [I only did a little more than Lloyd] Patten made the biggest offensive play for NO in the first half.
un stinkin believable!!

Our defense is stout today. BB has said over & over how JC is late on his throws. I'm not sure if the problem is Zorn's play calling or Jason's poor execution. He has been throwing high all day.
Posted by: will_ga | September 14, 2008 2:40 PM | Report abuse
Wow, really? Why are some of you so negative? Did you watch last weeks game?
Compared to last week, I'm thrilled with what the offense is doing. They look a thousand times better this week, and this is obviously going to be a process week in and week out. Sure, I'd love to see them scoring TDs instead of FGs, but just the fact that they're able to move the ball and get first downs is reason enough for me to be optimistic.
I can't imagine it's any fun to watch football if you're constantly negative and pessimistic about everything and everything the Redskins do.

Yeah you're right swb a bunch of field goals is awesome.
Posted by: | September 14, 2008 2:42 PM | Report abuse
You actually believe something and BB said. This is the guy who critized NO for calling a time out after a run by Portis, claiming it was an incomplete pass. Not sure I would take his work on anything.

Possession WR 18:19 NO Saints 11:41
Story of the day thus far?
Hands down its Minn. is up 12-0 in the 3rd Indy is looking at 0-2, if they don't get some offense going themselves!
Posted by: RedskinRay1 | September 14, 2008 2:46 PM | Report abuse
We SHOULD beat NO and the Cards... but if we don't win these, we're looking at a very high draft pick.
But to get things in perspective Joe Gibbs lost his first 5 games before he adjusted to finish 8-8... and then win the SB the following year (and get us to a second the year after that).
But it's discouraging that we can move up and down the field but can't score (even FGs, apparently).

I went to high school (Parkview HS in Lilburn GA - Go Panthers!) with Jon Stinchcomb and his older brother Matt. Both are OL in the NFL.
Brett Conway, 2x Redskins kicker, also went to my high shool. Both of us are class of 1993.
