TCCLs

144 TCCLs - The Defense. Everyone associated with it was bringing the heat Sunday from the coaches to the reserves. Fewest net yards allowed by the Skins since Oct. 1992. Not too shabby. Now, can they do it again in Green Bay?

125.3 TCCLs - JC. Congrats on the Player Of The Week honors. You deserve it. The best is yet to come.

6 TCCLs - Coach Joe, specifically, Angry Coach Joe. Wonder if we'll able to provoke him to go off again this Friday, drop another 6 "Balance Bombs" and weave in a "Swinging Souls" for good measure? No sign of Jerry Coleman in the media room yet, but he's probably stuffing his face with free food at Beef Obrady's. Figure he'll get here in time for Coach Joe's last media briefing of the week.

- 18 TCCLS - Casey Husband. Love the guy, but in typical Yankee-fan fashion he's complaining about bugs and umpires. We bet a case of Guiness back in June that Dustin Pedroia would finish with a higher batting averaging than some Cano guy who apparently plays second base for the Evil Empire. So Dustin ROY kills it, and last week Casey leaves 6 beers in a bag at my desk at The Park. This dude is straight up Irish and he doesn't know how many beers are in a case? Now he's trying to say we only bet a six pack, yada, yada, yada. A six pack? That's not how I roll man. No way I make a long-term bet, ever, for anything less than a case. Pretty lame.

- 85 TCCLs - Sports Bog: Write whatever you want in oblivion, just leave your half-baked commentaries about "Redskins beat writers" out of it and we'll be cool. Old Media can be prickly. You probably don't want to mess with us.

Will post the injury status of the guys who have missed practice this week when we get it.

Cheers.

Is Jasno calling himself "old media"? Don't think he's quite met the requirement for that yet.

10 TCCL - TO - While I would ordinarily never award this chump or any cowgirl a coveted TCCL, I am so thankful he shut his mouth and spared me hearing his garbage all week - guess he knows they're gonna get worked by a legit 5-0 team.

1 TCCL:Steinbog and his idiotic defense of BLloyd.

2 TCCLs: Keenan Ivory McCardell- Dudes 87 and he comes in and catches two first downs.

3 TCCLs: James Thrash- Good guy.

4 TCCLs: JC nice job. Keep it up.

5 TCCLs: Asst. Headcoaches- Grilliams put in a great gameplan, let's see if he can do it again this week. Joe Bugel- No sacks last week and marginal success in the running game. Way to make chicken salad out of chicken sh#$.

5 TCCLs: Gibbs-Getting angry and letting Al Saunders run his offense which in turn let JC play some football was a great move.

When the Pack played here a couple years back (remember we should have won the game on a Portis reception for a TD in the 4th quarter but it got called back for a phantom motion penalty after which Brunnell promptly threw a pick) me and my boy Scrap missed our party bus ride back to Steamers. So drunk, pissed off and wearing our Skins jerseys, we sneak onto a bus heading to Lenfant Plaza full of Packer fans. And all these Wisconsin/Canadian sounding fools could talk about was how Joe Gibbs was washed up and the Skins were no good.

So if any Skins are reading this, pin it up on the bulletin board and let's kick some cheese-eating butt this weekend!

I'm surprised nobody emailed JLaC of these 100+ TCCLs Shabingus....

How does Gibbs 2.4 only get 6 TCCLs when his should have been in the 100s as well?

I guess Jerry Coleman is the whipping stick that people (JLaC and Scout.com) are always talking about when they mention who some reporter is ticking the coaches off with stupid questions. How did he get his job any way?

I think some of you need to read Steinberg's entry a little more carefully, particularly his second one. I can't believe how this thing escalated. Seems ridiculous to me. I think both he and Jason do great work here. Keep it up.

Yes, Jerry Coleman is the one that asked the "70% running question" last week that got Joe Gibbs so fired up. In fairness though he was correct in what he asked about. Joe Gibbs said so when he called him at home and apologized to him after he had watched the tape himself. I do not like him much but fair is fair.

Nice job JLA reppin Dustin P. Should be a GREAT game tonight, hopefully the home town team comes out on top.

As far as Lloyd goes, anyone trying to defend him at this point is as much a lost cause as Lloyd is.

In addition to that, Coleman has been chewed up and spit out by GW many of times. In fact I believe this piece in an article from scout.com was about Coleman:

"2. Gregg Williams.

The Genius is at it again. After the game, he chastised a radio reporter for daring to ask him why Kedric Golston was inactive. Williams barked at him and told him he would be "pissed" if he made a big deal out of it. To which we say: relax. But that was also an indication of why Williams would have -- and did have -- a tough time as a head coach. They have to answer those types of questions all the time. Joe Gibbs handles those very well; Williams does not. He honestly thought that, after a 34-3 win, a big deal would be made out of a backup tackle being inactive. Goodness sakes, man, relax. Williams is very fond of Golston and his strategy was smart; Lorenzo Alexander is a better pass rusher. Simple as that."

AND, Coleman said he asked GW questions about the defense the after the Giants game, and GW told him that he went over that yesterday (with his paid appearance on ComcastSportsNet) and Jerry made a semi-funny comment of him not having any $$ to throw at him.....

Brett Favre can throw a football over 50 yards. Sean Taylor can throw Brett Farve twice that far.

Old Media? Come on sir. George Michael has leftover cans of Rogaine older than you. Use the phrases "in essense" about 1000 more times, okay? The mere fact that you are compelled to refer to bloggers as people that need to put a sock in it is half-baked on it's own. Most of us make more than you.

What does SJK mean?
Low blow JLaC, low blow. Truth be told, Steinberg is actually entertaining and occasionally funny as hell. He never defended Lloyd as a player. Not once. He's simply fascinated by the man's quirkiness. Basically, Steinberg simply gives a different perspective on athletes by asking them questions like "Do you cheat at Halo?" or "Who is Johann Cavalli Valentino?" Some fans just want the facts and nothing else, while others want to know why CP and JC were wearing gold shoes last week. Steinberg caters to those of us who recognize (and appreciate) the absurdity of modern day professional sports...
JLaC on the other hand, not impressed homey. This blog can't even hold a candle to the Wizards Insider. The only reason this blog gets so many hits is because Skins fans (myself included) are just a bit obsessed with our squad. Hell, Washingtonpost.com could have a chimpanzee guest blog and it would still get about 50 comments... JLaC get over yourself.

Jason,

I sent you an e-mail about a year ago complimenting you on an article you wrote about the Skins. What has happened to you? All I read from you now is how "angry" and "unbalanced" coach Joe Gibbs is. Personally, given the idiotic behavior of the press covering the Redskins lately - I don't blame Gibbs for being upset. All you folks have been doing is bad-mouthing the team and the coaches and trying to find controversy. Get a life and enjoy this year's ride. It's pretty Obvious that the Redskins are going to go deep into the playoffs if they stay healthy. Please for the sake of the team and the fans, be positive and off the Gibb's back.

Respectfully,
Jon

What is a TCCL?????

Posted by: who knows | October 13, 2007 3:01 PM | Report abuse

Just want to say thanks for the comments on here written by Jon Bloom and and Wayne P.

Jason La Canfora is a complete fraud and I can absolutely guarantee you one day he will wake up with a pink slip in his "locker." The Post can't possibly keep him on that much longer, with all the complaints from its readers pouring in.

This paper is usually better than this...but for some reason, they have kept this guy on as the Skins reporter for several years now. My sense is because he does write a lot, and probably the more articles/blog entries you write, the better it reflects on you.

That said, WHAT he writes is what should count. And his writings have gone from mediocre at best in the past, to becoming in the past year or so not only unethical, but nearly libelous on several occasions.

He is a total, unabashed, fraud. He tries painfully to make a name for himself by trying to start controversies and look for reasons to criticize every last possible detail of the team. He has absolutely zero respect for Coach Joe Gibbs, has no respect for the job he holds, and is simply trying to establish a name for himself. It's blatantly obvious, if you've been reading his stuff consistently over the past several years.

I beg the paper to consider getting rid of him, but I have faith that his days are numbered (after this season).

Jerry Coleman said that he hates the Skins when he was on 98Rock a few years ago. I guess there is no pride when you got to put dinner on the table eh Jerry?

Get out of DC you smarmy prick.

"6 TCCLs - Coach Joe, specifically, Angry Coach Joe."

I'm actually happy to see "Angry Coach Joe" again because the last couple years he looked more like "Happy Grandpa" then the guy I remember from the 80's.

We used to refer to him back then as the "mean nice guy."

Glad you're back Joe. :)
