The MNF Crew Meets Steinberg (Updated)

Warning: this video has more politics 'n' football talk.

But it also has Kornheiser (does that qualify for a 'but ...' ?)

UPDATE: As promised, the second video is a Ron Jaworski Xs and Os breakdown of tonight's game.

Got new posted...

There is a reliable poster on ExtremeSkins saying that a Skins player told him that our boys are going with the burgundy-on-burgundy unis tonight!?!!? Any confirmation?? What's the word around the campfire?

Jasons, Consanants, Boz -- can anyone confirm this madness!?!?!

what's the food of choice for the game tonight? I'm going Subway grilled chicken foot long on wheat! With Ranch, onions, green peppers, black olives, oregeno, salt, pepper, oil, and lettuce.

i was talking trash with a coworker today (a cowgirls fan), and i came up with a GREAT analogy for the 2008 skins and cowboys: Star Wars!

its so perfect.. the cowboys are a mighty franchise, america's team, with the evil emperor at the helm (Jerry Jones). His apprentice, Darth Vader (romo) destroys other planets

The Redskins are led by cool young Luke Skywalker (Campbell) and the brash Han Solo (Portis), with his sidekick Wookie (Cooley, obv).

The Evil Empire employs Boba Fett (Demarcus Ware, bounty on QBs), and of course Wade Phillips... get this... JABBA THE HUTT!! HAHAHA

and this is the best part... who would be Anakin Skywalker? the great jedi who turns evil? He starts off as a promising talented candidate, betrays the Jedi, calls Obi-Wan gay (jeff garcia), even kills the black master jedi Mace Windu (Donovan), and is now the supreme evil being in the universe.

obviously i'm incredibly bored at work and thought this analogy was PERFECT! let me know what u guys think

"I would mind, simply because I'd rather have two 2nd round picks, one of which I'd use on a center (if a decent one was available) and a DE/LB. If one didn't appear to be available in the 2nd round, I'd say draft the center if he was amazing.

Alex Mack from Cal not only has a pimp name but is also supposed to be the real deal and should go in first round.

someone posted a link to the three keys to the game in the last thread. It included this :

"The Redskins have developed a troubling habit of winning the yardage and time of possession battles early, but failing to turn them into points. That won’t cut it tonight either. Falling behind by more than a score against a pass-rush-happy team like Pittsburgh, particularly with a slowed or absent Chris Samuels on Jason Campbell’s blind side, could be too much to overcome.

Here’s hoping the Redskins come out swinging from the opening gun and be the ones to set the early tone—not the other way around, as has been the case since the Philadelphia game in week four. "

Not necessarily true. Down one score Zorn will still run it and run it some more. He'll stick to the gameplan, we've seen him do this before when we were down 14-0 to Philly.

Talking to a "coworker," huh? If it helps you get into the girl's pants, then it's a great analogy. Otherwise, it's just so 20th Century. How old is the girl? If she's in her 30's it might work.

Burning Questions 2nite!

1) Will 'Tana and Samuels play?

2) Does JC throw his first pick?

3) Can we pressure Big Ben?

4) How many lame references will Kornheiser make to the Skins victory-presidential election outcome connection?

5) Can Florida and Georgia people shut their pie-holes b/c no one in DC cares about their stupid rivalry and it's not like either of those teams will play for a Nat'l Championship this year anyway?

BURGUNDY ON BURGUNDY?

Has it finally happened? Word has it that the Redskins are expected to wear burgundy pants and burgundy jerseys for Monday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It would be the first time--at least in recent memory--that the team would wear burgundy on burgundy uniforms.

Players have talked about wearing burgundy on burgundy for years, and earlier this season Jim Zorn indicated it would be a possibility for cold weather games.

White on white uniforms has become a fashion trend for the Redskins in recent years. This year, the Redskins are 4-1 wearing white on white uniforms.

On that Star Wars stuff, I remember that last season, some NFL fan out there in the intergoogletubeworld had a website that assigned every NFL team to a Star Wars character (I think Belichik was Darth Vader).

My favorite was the Browns, who were compared to the Jawas: They're small, brown, and trade for junk.

You can wear whatever the hell you want at home. The Jets wear those Titans unis all the time. The Steelers have been spotted more than once this season in those God awful throwbacks. The Chargers bust out the 'its a boy' jerseys on special occasions, and even the Broncos whipped out the orange crush recently.

The home team just has to decide if it will go with a light or dark variant, and the away team has to wear the opposite.

Im not sure how much advance notice you have to give, but its by no means locked in each season. Tho you may have to register a look with the office or something so you dont have a Oregon Duck situation brewing.

I remember back when Jaworski was a QB at Philly, but I never really knew what he looked like b/c in his football cards, he was always wearing a helmet. Even google imaging for him now, the only photos from his playing days are ones where he's wearing a helmet. As an announcer, we see the mug on the guy's chin and can appreciate his Polishness. Looking at him, I always wondered how a butter faced guy like that ended up with a bucket on his head commanding a football team. [The other Polish QB of note in my football card collecting days was Steve Bartkowski.] Anyway, I did find ONE football card, maybe his rookie year. Now I can appreciate why he chose to be photographed with his helmet on:

I know that feeling. But you know what my heart needs a break and I say the heck with being nervous and trying to think of the worst possible scenerios this team could loose. So today here's what I want from this team in this order:

1. No major injuries
2. A win
3. Jc to not throw a pick or fumble
4. D to get a couple of sacks and tos
5. Devin Thomas to have a decent game

Geez! First they go to the black freakin' shoes, then the all white uni's, NOW burgundy on burgundy. Rumor has it that Portis is the guy (probably one of several) that picks...or suggests...the uniforms for each game. If so, the dude needs to focus on running the football(which he does very well) and stay away from attempts at making a fashion statement!
