Have you ever sat next to a college football in his prime? Dude was huge. He was wearing an FSU T-shirt, and the joints in his fingers looked like he'd broken knuckles in his past. It was the draft when the Skins drafted Rocky Mac, and he (Rocky) was something like the 9th OLB drafted (and Rocky went at the top of the 2nd round). There was a run on OLBs that year and the Skins were in need of one (to replace LaVar ... esp. b/c that Holdman thing wasn't working out). As a geek, I knew what all the OLB prospects looked like from the internet. In the internet pictures, Wimberly had Bigby/Horton like hair, but on the plane, he was clean shaven.

[btw, my choice for the Skins OLB had been Thomas Howard out of UTEP rather than Rocky, but Rocky has worked out pretty well ... I worried (and continue to worry) about Rocky's knees. Howard ended up on the Raiders and is 100% solid ... except for the fact he ended up on the Raiders.]

Sure, sween, a college football in its prime may be an impressive sight, but nobody ever talks about how few college footballs make it to the pros...

I heard Landry was finally forced to sit out and rest a day after playing the entire season with a serious case of miss-tackleitus..

Guy grabbed nothing but air followed by a face full of wet grass about 10 times last week against the Giants.

So with FFL being over what the hell do we all do for the next few months other than watch football?

dc, I wanted howard as well, he has/had a sick 40 time, I think it was in the 4.4 range, and was bigger than RMack. Plus he was available when their 2nd round pick came up, minus the trade to move up. Oh well...

there it is sween. that's what i was looking for...;)

greg, i think the fact that rocky was from the U made the difference. where has he been all year btw? you hardly ever hear his name during the game.

Springs has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game as he re-aggravated his whole body when forced to dress himself this morning.

Springs however assured the media after practice that there is NO WAY he is missing this game as it is against an NFL opponent...

You know, this was my impression, too. But he's having a pretty good year: 69 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and one INT.

Landry is being misused, but only out of necessity. He needs to be in the box blitzing and mixing things up. Having him play centerfield is not playing to his strengths. I understand there isn't a better alternative right now, but he was drafted to be a SS and to mix things up at the line. He's had his troubles against Jacobs, but a lot of people do. Especially considering he's coming from 20 yards back and Jacobs already has a head of steam going.
