T.O.
I'm not sure any of us can be certain about what happened here, but I don't see this being a "publicity stunt." I don't think anyone wants that kind of attention, not even TO. He has long struck me as someone who is probably dealing with some childhood/depression issues - I'm not a shrink but I play one on this blog - and for all of his accomplishments, I felt like he lacked an inner confidence that might manifest itself by acting out.
Regardless, I like to joke around as much as - if not more than - the average bear, but I don't think this is a matter to take lightly. I'm not cool with suicide jokes. If it turns out days or weeks from now that this was some kind of elaborate ploy, then let's revisit it then. But right now, with the information so shady,, I think it's premature to ridicule this man for something that could be a most serious problem.
Anyway, that's my take on it at least as far as the blog. I just feel like there has to be a line somewhere. Not saying we can't discuss it, but I think it would be unfair to take a bunch of cheap shots at the guy this morning. Seem fair enough?
