Trent Williams: Playing with McNabb 'doesn't feel real right now'

Moments after being drafted by the Redskins with the No. 4 pick, Oklahoma offensive tackle Trent Williams spoke with the media and talked about protecting quarterback Donovan McNabb after spending his college career keeping defenders off Sam Bradford. Calling it "a big task," he added: "I've been watching him my whole life. It still doesn't feel real right now. I guess in training camp, I'll snap out of it."

From Mike Mayock - NFL NETWORK:

Trent Williams played center in the all-star game. That shows his versatility and also that he is very smart. You have to be smart to play center and call all the offensive alignments.

IMHO we got the best of the LT prospects.

So in the first round the Broncos draft a WR and QB from spread option teams that mostly run. Apparently Cerrato has moved to Denver

Jeff Fisher says "door is shut" on a trade for Albert Haynesworth

The Titans made a run at swinging a trade that would have brought defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth back to Nashville.

And it's not gonna happen.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that coach Jeff Fisher said the "door is shut" on a deal with the Redskins.

The Vikings potentially remain in play. The Lions surely are out of the picture, after drafting Ndamukong Suh.

so far pretty good, still a few hours to be 2/2

Also want to highlight the almost never right beantown greg, he of the we will never draft MK12, sign AH and Circuit City is a well run company fame:

Except he had no off the field issues that could be proven. He lied about being over Deion's house thats it. There was some speculation that teams like the Rams were bad mouthing Bryant so he would fall to round two. You never heard he was a bad teammate or had a poor work ethic. Cant stand Dallas but I hope he makes everybody pay. You go ahead and take Captain character in Tebow, ill take Bryant lets see who has a better career.

Dallas passed on an LT so Romo will be under fire, Eagles passed on a safety so we will go over the top on them all day. My biggest concern is that the Bills & Raiders and Rams still have a shot at Clausen & McCoy. Thank goodness the Bronocos nabbbed Tebow so we still have one slot for JC to get dealt for a draft pick.

I am guessing that the Titan's owner didnt want to contribute back half the bonus Snyder paid to AH. Which I believe was part of the asking price.

There is not one NFL owner that wants to ever "bail out" Snyder after he blew up the Coaching salary "unofficial" cap with the Gibbs signing. Its had HUGE negative operational solvency effects on smaller market teams (HC/AC salaries come out of a different cost center).

===============================

He forgot his cleats to his pro day, overslept during one of his interviews with a team and stood up another coach for half a day. Hmmm. Yeah, no thanks. Others have said he wasn't the greatest teammate b/c he was late for meetings, poor work ethic, felt "entitled," etc., so yes I have heard that. And, no, I'm not saying Tebow will be a better pro, but yes, I'd rather have him on my team. It's much easier to find a WR than it is to find someone with Tebow's leadership and work ethic. It deserves a spot on my 53 man roster. And, I'm prolly the LEAST religious person on RI.
