Dude, I would *LOVE* to see us trade Albert Haynesworth, next year's 1st, and this year's 4th to the Ravens for the 25th pick and Jared Gaither.
Pick up Jimmy Clausen, let him simmer, and have your OL set.
Then again, I may be on crack, but I'd be working to make that happen!

Here's a good comparison of Okung and Williams from Yahoo Sports:

I like the pick up. Check back in 2-3 years to see who was the better OT...

CLAUSEN AND GAITHER for Haynesworth, next year's 1st, this year's 4th rounder, or whatever the actual value should be!

"Will Trent Williams have an immediate impact with Redskins?"
The projected line is:
Williams--lt
Dockery--lg
Rabach--c
Williams--rg
Hicks--rt
Same interior, new tackles.
Looks like a in-line blocking right side, and the left with an athletic young tackle.
The edges are better, the interior solid.
Maybe you say, "Why not?" and make a move for the fins Justin Smiley to play right guard.
But no matter what you do, you can't out do doing the right thing: drafting a lineman in the 1st round.

Tim Tebow over Clausen?

Yeah Romo. I was afraid they might reach for Bruce Campbell or Taylor Mays. I think it's a good value pick. Anything to get Roy E off the fjkn field.

Moe, Artis Hicks is not going to start at right tackle. First, the draft isn't over (keep your eyes peeled for Dace Richardson ... the other side of the line from Bulaga). Second, teams are going to be shedding some lineman after this is over. Plus, Skins still have four guys who don't fit (AH, JC, AC, RMcI) and there are plenty of good tackles in RFA (Brown, Gaither) ... Trent Williams might not even start out on the left side.

Josh McDaniels is a risk taker. Not liking his drafts, too many questions in their 1st round draft choices in the two years he has been a HC.
Posted by: TWISI | April 22, 2010 10:10 PM | Report abuse
Yes he will make an impact.
Its painful watching a draft this deep knowing we are missing out on some excellent talent and there is nothing we can do about it.

So all the so called RI hamsters scream o-line, o-line
They draft o-line and now it's
OMG they drafted a lazy guy with poor work ethic
What a bunch morons!

I weigh 180 pounds but I bet I would get about 50% in this poll if you replaced Trent's name with mine. I have legs AND arms AND eyes AND a brain! Last year we hired whichever fat homeless people Vinny and Danny could see whenever they drove past the dumpsters behind KFC. And I'm pretty sure one of those guys was actually a walrus with a helmet on, and another was just a tackling dummy stuffed with Mexican jumping beans. Pretty sure that means Trent Williams was the necessary pick as starting tackle for da skins, even though I wouldn't have minded getting Berry.

IS Steve Young a domineering azz hat or what? I think everybody on the set wants to punch him in the head.
I wish T jack would, LOL

I wouldn't mind having Jimmy Clausen now. He know has a chip on his shoulder. This should drop his arrogance.

If rabach goes so what? he is one of the weakest centers in the league he constantly gets overpowered and certainly not quick, I want to see if e. williams or ANYONE can beat out rabach or heyer. All the talk about rabach being solid is nothing but lies and nonsense he is one of the problems on the line not a solution. trent williams will start and do well.

I believe Steve Young has had One too many concussions. He just keeps ramblin on.Makes the draft almost unwatchable.

Hmmm...is this a trick question? Will our #4 overall lineman pick be a starter on an oline with barely 2 solid starters?
Posted by: HokieSkin | April 22, 2010 11:07 PM | Report abuse
O.K. one down, three to go. BTW there is absolutely no way in hell any GM is gonna' give up half of HAYNESWORTH's bonus plus a draft pick to acquire him. He's a REDSKIN for the foreseeable future.

LOL! I know right! Mel Kiper is probably scartching his noggin on this one, He's draft board was baaaaaaaaaad this year. A lot of other stuff happen like, Dez Bryant to the Cow-girls, and of course Rolando McClain to the Raiders, He's gonna be a good LB but I just didn't see this happening as well as Tebow to the Broncos LOL! The Jaguars whiffed on this one! looks like less fans on the stand this year in Jax.
GO SKINS! I like this pick! Williams is gonna be really good under the tutelage of the Shanahans. Anybody saying something about we should've taken Berry instead can go root for some other team retards!
It took 10 years for the Skins to address a need and maybe just a little deemed respectable again until Shanahan and Allen took the game controller out of little Danny Boy and his playmate the Ratboy Cerrato from treating this wonderful franchise like the Madden Video Games. Williams is gonna be a Pro Bowler like Clady! plus this is a better line and they'll be in a much better shape and much more motivated than ever before. McNabb is gonna be a beast this year!
HTTR!!!!

I was all about us picking Okung, and then I heard murmurs about Williams being on the radar. Didn't know much about the kid, so I started reading and digging. The more I read about him, the more I felt he would be a better fit for the 'Skins than Okung. Okung is overall better rounded and a subperb athlete, but Williams is a diamond in the rough. Under the right guidance and conditions, he will blossom and mature. Williams had issues with work ethics, but the key word is HAD. Unless I missed something, everything I read about him from last year showed he played tough, aggressive, with a mission and purpose. I firmly believe under Mike and Kyle, he will be polished into a fierce, competitive Pro Bowl caliber player. Bank roll it!
HTTR!!!
