Tweets: Zorn on Portis; Campbell Speaks

A few random training camp tweets from the post-practice quote-a-thon:

From @RickMaese:

JZorn: says past problems with Portis were all about learning to communicate; says they're on same page now

Several guys said Zorn was more laid-back today, Z explains tempo and effort was so good, there was no need to ride players and yell as much

JCampbell: feels much more comfortable as leader and happy to finally have same offense from season to season

Portis says no offseason squirmishes with Zorn. [Or skirmishes, for that matter.]

From Keith Eloi (@Keloi16), who found time to tweet: Man breaking in new cleats on the first day of practice might be the worst thing to go thru besides a knee injury!!!!

From @dcsportsbog, who'll have more over on the new practice dress code at his blog:

The WaPo has eight seats at Redskins Park. I got here at 830, and they were all taken. Yeah.

With all this real-time blog-tweeting interaction going on, I'm wondering if there is someone at the Park who'd be willing to coldcock the Vick-sign dude.

I'm willing to put $5 out there to whoever's willing. I'd consider it a charitable donation.

Any takers?

Re: Scamp's play-by-play on the 11 drills.

1) Moss is the man - always has been, always will be.

2) "Albert Haynesworth burst past Devin Clark into the backfield" - Devin Clark, ladies and gents, the future LT of the team...

3) "He slipped past a tackle by Byron Westbrook" - I didn't know Byron tried to do things for the team other than simulate his brother...that is interesting training camp news.

Why? Brownwood reams me every morning up here and CL every aftgernoon. Isn't that enough for you? You're not one of those degenerate porn chasers like the "Sports Junkies" are you, Alex?

Alex - I explained it last post in the middle or so
============================================

Gosh, guys, now that the Sports Junkies (who are they?) have revealed themselves to be porn-popping perverts, I'm starting to think my 5% estimate was too low. Throwing them into the mix I guess I have to revise it up to 7.5%. Maybe 10%.

Samuels Interview On the Field

Coming off the practice field, the media horde surrounded Chris Samuels and Casey Rabach--primarily because they were the first players to make their way to the team's facility.

Samuels commented on his weight, which he says is at 305, down from 330 last year. (The team lists him at 314.)

"I feel better conditioned," he said.

What brought on the weight loss?

"I feel like I needed a rebirth of my career," Samuels replied. "Last year, I went on injured reserve [with a triceps injury] and I was disappointed in that. I just rededicated myself to the offseason program, worked a little bit harder, and I got better results.

"Hopefully it has extended my career at least anoth 5-6 years."

If I remember right the jets put him on their active roster too, but alas eventually cut. Everyone I was standing around was in love with him today.
