One Pick To Go

T Michael Oher and DE Brian Orakpo still on the board. Skins like them both. Boith might be there at 13.

Also, would a team move up to 13 to get WR Jeremy Macklin if he's sitting there? Maybe Cleveland trades up, after already trading back, and gets a WR it badly needs.

Buffalo at 11 takes DE Aaron Maybin.

Denver liked DT B.J. Raji and DE Tyson Jackson, but they're gone now. You would think they would go defense, and they also invested a lot of time in Maybin, Orakpo and Brown.

Could Orapko fall in the Skins laps....

trade down if orakpo is gone. maybe they can pick up a 2nd round pick and still get Oher. That would be awesome.

Posted by: Skins1 | April 25, 2009 5:30 PM | Report abuse

Come on Oher!

If Oher is there and the Skins get an offer to trade down, what do they do?

Posted by: Curzon417 | April 25, 2009 5:30 PM | Report abuse

I think Denver takes Orakpo, so Oher should be there for us. But I would still trade back if value of picks is right

Posted by: frediefritz | April 25, 2009 5:31 PM | Report abuse

Please take Orakpo!

Wow. They didn't take any time on that pick

Posted by: frediefritz | April 25, 2009 5:34 PM | Report abuse

I would rather have Oher. Now we have a great defense but still a porous, fragile, brittle, old O Line.

Posted by: scampbell1975 | April 25, 2009 5:34 PM | Report abuse

Yessssssssssssss

Posted by: F0X7 | April 25, 2009 5:34 PM | Report abuse

the don't waste no time. Well, not my first choice, but at least we got something we need.

They must have thought that if this guy is around they take him no matter what. Wish every team was that quick.

Posted by: fitzroysq | April 25, 2009 5:34 PM | Report abuse

We got Orakpo. Yes. Yes. Yes. They finally did something right. Hats off to the FO.

Posted by: DemBakerBoyz | April 25, 2009 5:34 PM | Report abuse

Did the skins hustle that pick in or what. LOL

Posted by: JinxMan | April 25, 2009 5:34 PM | Report abuse

ORAKPO!!!! Now Haynesworth will truly RAWK!!!

Posted by: frak | April 25, 2009 5:34 PM | Report abuse

NO OL, NO OL NO OL NO OL NO OL NO OL who F%$^&&* cares about Orapko .. he has knee/injury problems like Rocky and Malcolm Kelly figures they would go for him when everyone else steered away.

Posted by: periculum | April 25, 2009 5:35 PM | Report abuse

Good pick guys. He's done his homework. I bet he even knows the team colors.

Posted by: SMACK1 | April 25, 2009 5:36 PM | Report abuse

OT next..

Posted by: frak | April 25, 2009

I can't wait to flame you idiots when they play less than 50% of the time because of injury. Orapko is a weekend warrior ... let's see what he does no the field. Friggin' idiots as bad as the FO.

Posted by: periculum | April 25, 2009 5:36 PM | Report abuse

You can find OL in middle of draft... You can't find an impact player of Orakpo's potential in the middle rounds... so happy!

Posted by: tony325 | April 25, 2009 5:37 PM | Report abuse

3rd round OT? NO, it has to be a G/C now. We're stuck with NO OL.

Posted by: periculum | April 25, 2009 5:37 PM | Report abuse

Stop hatin on the pick. We finally have someone who can rush the passer. We can't take care of everything this year in the draft.

Posted by: DemBakerBoyz | April 25, 2009 5:38 PM | Report abuse

I messed up some, but I had Orakpo:

1. Matt Stafford Georgia
2. Jason Smith Baylor
3. Aaron Curry Wake Forest
4. Mark Sanchez USC
5. Michael Crabtree Texas Tech
6. Andre Smith Alabama
7. Jeremy Maclin Missouri
8. Eugene Monroe Virginia
9. B.J. Raji Boston College
10. Michael Oher Ole Miss
11. Brandon Pettigrew Oklahoma State
12. Tyson Jackson LSU
13. Brian Orakpo Texas
14. Malcom Jenkins Ohio State
15. Clay Matthews USC
16. Eben Britton Arizona
17. Darius Butler Connecticut
18. Rey Maualuga USC
19. Josh Freeman Kansas State
20. William Beatty Connecticut

With our third, I hope we have a shot at Antoine Caldwell, Alabama.

Yeah sure, impact in the weight room.

Sprained right knee during 2007 opener (Arkansas State) was an early setback. He missed the next four games as a result but did finish the season strong, including two sacks vs. ASU in Holiday Bowl. 2008: Misses Baylor game and plays sparingly versus Kansas due to left knee sprain. Also suffered hamstring strain at the Combine but recovered fully in time for late-March Pro Day workout.

Maybe your right, but I still think pass rush is more important to the Redskins... Heyer was an undrafted player & maybe after another year working the weights, etc, he will be better. We still made a huge upgrade to our O-Line when we signed Dockery.

Posted by: tony325 | April 25, 2009 5:43 PM | Report abuse

Hey if Orakpo works out... we owe the Raiders for being so dumb... I don't believe he would of been there if they didn't reach for Heyward-Bey.

John Corcoran's column on Orakpo stategery should be up on NFLDraftdog.com soon..
