The Malcolm Kelly topic is a hot one this week; we'll have further updates as soon as the locker room opens. Meanwhile, JReid gives his unrestricted take on the matter.

Not everyone can watch these vidoes at work. Can we get the same reports in writing?

I expected Shaun Alexander to see some carries last game. After all, with 2 RBs limping around on one leg, you'd expect your perfectly healthy veteran pick-up to step in.

Now we go to Seattle. Conventional wisdom says that Shaun Alexander will be hyped up to play against old team, in front of old fans, yada yada.

How many carries does Alexander get? And if he gets 0-1 carry again, then WHY DO WE KEEP HIM ON THE FRICKIN' ROSTER!?!?!?!

brownwood, I hope you're not saying that Hall is better than Rogers right now...

Posted by: psps23 | November 19, 2008 10:34 AM

No. Just saying that Hall is not a bum. Rogers can cover a WR all day and night. Just don't think he's going to get you the ball. Hall's biggest problem is that he gambles on picks and on occasion gives up plays. I don't think you can ignore the fact that he's got about as many picks this year alone as Rogers has HIS WHOLE CAREER. Rogers is solid, but Hall makes plays.

No offense Alex, but your cousin-in-law is hot. Big Lisa Ling fan.

I do hold out hope that Kelly and Thomas become a good pair of WR's to help out the team with frequency. Hope they both can get a catch or two in the next game. Contribute.

Hope springs eternal...

...unless we're talking about Shawn Springs, of course.

JM, I personally liked "If he was really unrestricted, they'd let him out of the bathroom" a bit more, but I suppose it's tomayto-tomahto...

Posted by: daggar | November 19, 2008 10:55 AM | Report abuse

Sorry, didn't know I copied the whole blog on my last comment.

I blame Vinny.

Posted by: Cindy Boren | November 19, 2008 10:46 AM

I'm getting the impression from some of the posters up here that you don't even poke Shawn Springs with a stick. You just look at him funny and he goes down again. Can you confirm?

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 19, 2008 10:56 AM | Report abuse

Actually, our writers make each player submit to a rigorous, thorough physical every Wednesday morning.

Stand up for your rights! This is a sure sign that you need a new job. When I quit Pizza Hut my ability to watch these videos improved. I sure hope they extend my unemployment benefits.

I don't know. When I'm letting it hang in the bathroom stall, I feel pretty "unrestricted".

Besides, what better venue to talk about Malcolm Kelly's contribution than standing over a toilet?

I think they don't even look at him anymore. They just let the gentle breeze injure him

Ooooh, gross: "Bend over and hold the table for Dr. Jasno." No wonder Vinnie won't talk to him.

I believe that the denseness of the comments here is directly related to the density of posters.

The other week, Shawn Springs was on Doc's show talking about his calf. He likened his calf injury to ripping off a piece of string cheese.

I thought that was a spot-on comparison.

Shawn Springs' has the muscular endurance of string cheese.

And politically the anti-Hastelback. You know, human compassion for all people and things like that. I can't say I know her well, met only once so far at the wedding, though I am sure that will change if they start coming up to summer at the compound.

Ironically, reports say now that his calf tastes not like mozzarella which is what string cheese is but rather a over aged cheddar.

I agree with this. I'm simply saying that I'm not sold yet on a multi-year deal for big money. Just as you can't ignore the INTs Hall produces, you also can't ignore the stats that say he was the most thrown on and completed against corner in the league during his short tenure in Oakland. I think he still has to earn the trust this team has in Rogers and Springs (when he's on the field) before they give him comparable money. I was ecstatic about the INT, but one interception isn't enough to buy a $30, $40, or $50 million contract.

Bottom line, if push comes to shove and only one can be re-signed, it better be Carlos.

I have to say - much as I'm addicted to RI for updates...I really hate the Unrestricted video series. It feels thrown together, low budget, often rehashed what has already been posted by Cindy and JLC.

C'mon, Cindy. I know we're in the digital age and video is to the internet as Oxygen is to life, but can't we get something a little less Blair Witch??

*For the record this is nothing against Jason Reid - I love his columns and the two Jason's Comcast videos are always great.

Why don't you help pay his ransom? It's easy to talk about how you don't like it, but I haven't seen you throw one penny to Jason Reid's freedom. Hypocrite.

So now we've resorted to cannabilism? I'm not sure I want to know what Shawn Springs calf tastes like. Cindy, is this also a job duty for the WAPO reporters? Find the exact flavor of Shawn Springs calf?
