I don't even need to hear the post...to know that Jason paints a grim picture, only to give enough plausible possibilities to remain negatively non-committal.

OK, I'll try this post...since I couldn't post about not needing to read what Jason said because:

I don't even need to hear the post...to know that Jason paints a grim picture, only to give enough plausible possibilities to remain negatively non-committal.

So I'll say instead...Jason is always rock solid on the positions that he takes regarding the information that he gives us on his videos!

is that positive enough to get posted?

jans, what happens when Tana plays, and turns the 'slighly pulled' hammy, into a full blown, 'pulled hammy' and is out for 3-5 weeks like last year.

I'm actually fairly nervous about this game. It has been quite some time since I well and truly cared about this franchise, but they're winning me over slowly but surely. I think we're going to learn a whole lot about this team. Great teams show up and are competitive on national TV, their established players rise to the occasion, and a handful of their young guys emerge in the spotlight.

Everyone knows Clinton Portis. But this is the game where the rest of the country will get to see Jason Campbell, our little secret, and Chris Horton, the possible rookie of the year. And I'm holding out hope that Devin Thomas or Fred Davis break out tonight.

I'm picking Redskins 15, Steelers 14.

I'm betting Willie Parker plays tonight, once he realizes that Sean Taylor isn't out there. Parker was on the wrong end of what may have been ST's most punishing hit ever. I just remember the commentator saying that "Fast Willie is going to be Sore Willie tonight".......That hit was unbelievable. I think both guys were rooks at that point too. Ah well....good times.

Let's see -- the Steelers have the #25 ranked total offense according to nfl.com. The Skins have already played the #1, 2, 5, and 6th highest ranked offenses. Each had their worst outing of the season against the Skins + the defense didn't require a large number of sacks to contain those offenses... so I'm a little confused why they need 6+ sacks to have a chance at beating the Steelers.

Siris, the reason for that is because that so far this year is the formula for beating the Steelers. It may be true, or we may prove it flexible/wrong. I can't wait to find out (and need to find someone with cable).

I don't think they need to, but it certainly makes the game alot more fun to watch. ["Take. That. You. Miami. Of. Ohio. Wannebe. Real. Miami. Q.B.!"]

The Willie Parker return situation reminds me of the Brian Westbrook return situation. Early part of the return is not so good.

The better game tonight will be Skins O v. Steelers D. THAT game is going to determine the over/under.

The Steelers O v. Skins D threatens more three-and-outs ... THAT is the game where flukes can (likely will) happen.

I'm sensing a low score and big game out of Suisham.

That's been my experience, too. Can't imagine what it will be like tonight if people try to post during the game.

I've found it's best to keep the blog open in two windows -- one for posting and one for reading (and seeing whether your post is coming up.)

Ease up, though. When Obama's elected, all these problems will be solved.

Redskins:
One of the secrets to the success of NFL rushing leader Clinton Portis of the Redskins is his 6-foot-3, 284-pound fullback, Mike Sellers.

"It's fierce to see a man 285, 290 (pounds) running through a linebacker 230, 240 (pounds)," Portis said. "You can't sustain that contact for a whole game. It's only a matter of time before you start getting out of the way."

This topic is out of order today. Wednesday is for dissecting last year's draft. Thursday is for next year's draft. Of course, every day is perfect for talking about how pathetic the Georgia Bulldogs are. What are your thoughts on the topic, Truth?

I would mind, simply because I'd rather have two 2nd round picks, one of which I'd use on a center (if a decent one was available) and a DE/LB. If one didn't appear to be available in the 2nd round, I'd say draft the center if he was amazing.

I hit it once and it takes about 3-4 minutes to give me an error message. I hit "return to previous view" (which takes me back to my message in the comment box) and then hit "refresh" (that circular arrow button) and my comment has been posted, i.e., I agree with The Truth on this.

He's not. He's talking about the second round. UGA guys start going in the fourth round. Most of them aren't drafted at all. He's just blowing wind.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 3, 2008 2:49 PM | Report abuse

The Steelers have not beaten a team with a winning record. The Ravens have one now, but not when they played the Pittsburgh. They lost to the Eagles and Giants, but each game was not a high scoring affair.

The Skins can beat the Steelers. However, they have to play mistake free football to win what could be a defensive battle.

Posted by: siris | November 3, 2008 2:51 PM | Report abuse

A lot of times if it takes 3-4 minutes and then gives you an error, it has in fact posted your message. I think TE said it above, but I also open a second window for the blog and refresh that second window after I've posted a comment to see if it actually posted. This seems to cut down on the double/triple/quadruple posts.

And now, because I posted that, this comment will obviously get posted a million times.

PS - Skins by 4 tonight.

This is the first "unrestricted" I've listened to in weeks, and it hasn't gotten any better. I listened to the first minute and then cut to the end. There's nothing there that a well-read fan doesn't already know. If Samuels goes, he *probably* won't be at full strength? Give me a break and stop wasting bandwidth.

Reid writes some good stuff, but this "unrestricted" stuff ain't nearly of the same caliber.
