Walk Through

Cold as hell back there on the practice field. Ouch.

Anyway, not much going on. Too windy to throw a decent pass. Most of the players were in sweats - no numbers on the back - and from a rough count, everyone was out there.

Guys who are banged up like Heyer and McCardell were on the field. Getting James Thrash ready might be tough, but until they really practice tomorrow, it's impossible to tell.

I'll post what Coach Joe has to say when he speaks to us after the walkthrough.

I followed a link to the Seattle Times from the Wapo's skins page and found this nice article on Joe Gibbs: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/seahawks/2004103340_gibbs02.html

I wish I could travel to the NW to enjoy the party and the game, but alas, I cannot. I must say that I was the most nervous for a game last Sunday than I have been for a long time. No predictions, but I have a good feeling about the skins' chances in the play-offs. My wife, who is a huge Joe Gibbs fan, is watching the games again with me.

We're sorry to interupt this exciting RED THREAD with the following:

To anyone looking for a ticket. I have one extra that I will sell for what I paid ($150). It is in Section 307 Row P...which is on the Redskins side, 30 yard line, and more importantly, UNDER COVER, since it will be raining on Saturday.

A key benefit will also be that you will be sitting with 5 other Skins fans. Let me know if you are interested. I can be reached at dchandl3@yahoo.com

Red Stripe!!

(Which I will probably have a few of as it looks like I am being cajoled into traveling up to Seattle, at least for the party on Friday. And if I find myself in the stadium on Saturday...well, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing!).

Looking forward to meeting everyone. Also, if you hear of any good ticket offers (aka free or cheap for the just-out-of-college-paying-down-loans-but-lifelong-Skins-fan person that I am, please don't hesitate to write me at: stumptownchris at gmail.com)

I'm still here. I changed my nickname to Toddcoat in honour of the Skins' Todd-led run to the playoffs and have vowed to keep it untli you guys are eliminated. So, I guess I'm only stuck with this until February then? :-)

Love that weather report, seeing as the 'Hawks don't have much of a run game to speak of. To anyone who's followed them more closely than I have: How does their passing game do in rough weather? Is Hasslebeck used to it enough where he can perform despite rain/wind? Or will that slow him down and up the importance of the run?

What matters is that the Redskins establish the run early and have successful drives that eat up a lot game clock and not give Hasselbeck a lot of opportunities to score. I don't know how much as a team they have run over the season but Alexander has about 730 yards rushing. Don't forget he missed a few games during the season and Mo Morris took over. I see a lot of nickel and dime packages this weekend. Prioleau and Torrence will need to step up.

First the Skins will avenge the 2005 playoff loss this weekend...then they will travel to Dallas and end the winking, smiling Romo and the so much overated talk of a cowboys team this year. PERIOD! Of course doing so advances them to the NFC Championship game at GB ...Repectful team that had a great regular season, surprised everyone & has a great record through the years at home with the great Farve at the helm..but this will end as well...Brett and the Pack cannot overcome these Redskins who are on a mission. In a very close hard fought Game..SURPRISE. The Skins are In the Super Bowl against the heavy favorite Pats. All week long all you have read about and heard about are the Pats and going undefeated. Almost to the point where they are the Champs and have the formality of playing a game. The Skins are an after thought. In fact are the biggest underdog and largest point spread in Super Bowl History and hardly talked about. So there ya have it...The Pats end up having way too much pressure and lose their edge and The Skins are over looked by the Pats and the world because of the beating the Pats gave them at midseason and then Defeat the Pats to avenge being the team who lost to the last undefeated team in 72 and shock the world with the most incredible, surprising, unlikely, run of any team in United States sports history and capture the Super Bowl Title and become the most beloved Redskins team by Skins Nation in it's 75 year History..even though the 82 team is still in the hear of Skins Nation ..This 2007 team will win over and be a badge on our sleeve and cement Joe Gibbs in the same sentence as Vince Lombardi.... overcoming odds and winning a 4th SB with a different QB after a 12 year retirement.
