Weekend Update

Just wanted to follow up on a bunch of stuff you guys posted today. Again, hilarious stuff all around.

I'll get the Skins stuff out of the way first. Salave'a still could not practice but he hasn't been ruled out for the game. They usually dress seven D-linemen anyway, and a lot of those guys can play end and tackle, so they could still take a chance on an iffy guy if they had to have sufficient depth to rotate others in. They're calling it a game-time decision.

Now, to the hanging chads from the blog today.

First of all, is Bruce Dickinson back with Madien? This is a new studio album of which you speak?

Mucus - will definitely check out your band tonight after the wife goes to sleep. I'll try to turn Cooley on to it as well.
On the Paulaner front, their Hefewisen rocks, but with the coller weather appraoching, I've been going with their Original Munich. Tasty.

To clarify on Dirty Pretty Things. It's not that I dislike it, it just does not stand up to Babyshambles, which I can't stop listening to. It's cool and all, but not that great.

Anyone see that Dead Kennedy's show in NoVa this week? I was thinking of going then forgot all about it. If they could ever reuintie with Jello - money kills everything doesn't it - that's one show I would never miss. As it stands I've got tickets to see Frank Black in Baltimore Oct. 18, so I'm pretty pumoed about that.

Alright, going to get to the Tivo and catch up on The Wire. have yet to see any new episodes by my wife says it's been great.

Thanks again to all of you for taking the time to check in on this thingy. I'll check in Sunday and get back in the swing Monday when we can dissect the game. I'm just fired up to finally cover a 1 pm game again and actually get to watch and absorb everything as it happens rather than scrambling like a madman just to make deadline.

Cheers.

Nice upgrade Jason... now you can big-time some guys around FedEx.

I love you old school Skins fans... being 25, I never got the chance to fully experience Redskins glory... NFL films is all I know about the Hogs, Riggo, the smurfs and all those great things you're talking about. Your faithfulness gives me hope. All I know is Heath, Norv, Gus, Skip Hicks, and the ongoing Danny saga.

I killed a Texan fan with a trident.

Hey, where is everybody??? I know it's a weekend and all, but it's only about 25 hours till kickoff. Mucus membrane (aka The Muke), you out there? Bucktown? Boof (we'll even talk to YOU!)? Meg (the only other woman, so far as I know, on this blog until Chloe La Canfora masters typing)??? Thank God for Dorf. You get the TCCL humanitarian award.

In Sunday 1pm
War was beginning.

Gibbs: What happen?

Brunnel: Somebody set up us the bomb.

Saunders: We get signal.

Gibbs: What !

Saunders: Main screen turn on.

Gibbs: It's You !!

TexasFan: How are you gentlemen !!
TexasFan: All your base are belong to us.
TexasFan: You are on the way to destruction.

Gibbs: What you say !!

TexasFan: You have no chance to survive make your time.
TexasFan: HA HA HA HA ....

Saunders: Take off every 'zig' !!
Saunders: You know what you doing.
Saunders: Move 'zig'.

Gibbs: For great justice.

Hey, Jason's Editor and the rest of you...I'm a WOMAN...maybe I should change my screen name.....

I love the blog - just wish those pesky TX fans (be it Dallas or Houston) would stay off of it..

GO SKINS!!!!!

Cindy, just counting the hours down. It's like the quiet before the storm, but it had better be a storm of offensive TDs by the Skins.

Jason, loved the article on Saunders, at least some of the coaching staff is willing to talk.

Yesterday was Top5 skins, today is....

Top 5 Post Writers:
#1 Jason (love his articles and 'cause this blog is the best part of the whole dang paper)
#2 Wilbon (of course, dyuh!)
#3 Maske
#4 Boswell
#5 Anyone in the Cooking section on Wednesday(had to be said, sorry)

OK, I'll wipe the brown off my nose now.

You'll notice Tony K. didn't make the list. And he won't until he actually writes something of substance AND shaves that head. Shaved heads are the sexy, sorry, it's just the truth.

sting: that was classic :)

I, too, am a woman. Long time reader of the blog. Second time poster. Started watching Redskins/football in '82 with my then-boyfriend (now ex-husband). Watched The Diesel, Monk and the Hogs win the superbowl in '83. Been a die-hard fan ever since. Keeping the tradition going with my 17-year-old son. When Albright can't long-snap anymore, he can.

What a way to spend my birthday last Sunday! It ain't easy being a Skins fan! But it's what we do.

Love the blog, Jason (and Jason's Editor). Wish there was a secret code for Skins fans only, though!

Hail to the Redskins!

P.S.: New logo/banner looks great. Our little blog is all grown up now!

Sting: Love the "all your base are belong to us" reference. That's good stuff.

So, if Skins win Sunday and look good, does it mean the season has turned around? Or does it signal that Houston is just that much worse than the Redskins?

I love the upgrade.

Jason, nice tie.

Colin: seems like a lot of the 'skins issues are that they are not synching well with each other. If the Texans are as bad as they seem, then it might be an opportunity to get a little more aligned. So, could turn things around. But, somehow I doubt it. Everyone keeps talking about how Portis and Springs will turn things around. Two people don't make a team. I think it will take a few more weeks to really get it together.

Just a little over 12 hours to kickoff.

I took the Skins in the office suicide pool this week, it's time for the first "W".

And it's time for Dolla Bill to break out.

Glad to hear the female population is growing on the blog....love hearing from my fellow (strange term) female Skins fans.

My guy friends cannot believe what a Skins addict I am.

This blog is very woman friendly no? And to think my wife doesn't ever check in (she's not much on foozeball, beer or metal, yet we coexist well and brought life into the world together. strange, eh?)
Well, I'm here in the press box. Nothing to report. Had some friend chicken for breakfast up here. Yummy.
I'll check in a bit later. Thanks as always for swinging by.
Cheers.
