You've seen Jason Reid's prediction (Redskins 27, Cowboys 20), now tell us which team you think will win. (Feel free to consult Donovan McNabb...)

I will refrain from any FO bashing on this day....

TODAY IS ABOUT THE PLAYERS ON THE FILED!

HAIL!

From J Reid: "Zorn and has staff have risen above the situation and handled things professionally - much more so than other peoples might have under similar working conditions."

Jesus. A momentary lapse into Portis-Speak. Dude - people is a collective noun, you don't need to pluralize it. You a jouranlist. Didn't they learn you grammar when you was in school?

Let's float a turd in Jerry's punchbowl.

Perhaps JR was referring to this:

pl., peo┬Ěples. A body of persons sharing a common religion, culture, language, or inherited condition of life.

This is not a comment on his intelligence, mind you, but an observation about what he seems to do best.

Hey, mebbe not, but I'm willing to bet the dude didn't ace his Wonderlicks.

Just heard Chris Mortensen report on ESPN radio that Shanahan to Redskins is the "worst kept secret in the league"?! He makes it sound like a done deal.

What have you guys heard about this?

Posted by: swowra | November 22, 2009 10:32 AM | Report abuse

"He managed the game and didn't lose it."

Is this a bad thing?

Think about it.

Famous 'game managing' quarterbacks:

Bob Greise
Roger Staubach
Bernie Kosar
Joe Theisman
Ken Stabler
Trent Dilfer
Trent Green
Johnny Unitas
Jim Hart
Vince Ferragamo
John Brodie
Joe Montana
Steve Young
Fran Tarkington

There are more than a couple of ring winners in this group, ya' know.

Strong defense plus sound running game plus timely throws beat the efforts of any gunslinger on any day.

Just ask Dan Fouts and Jim Kelly if this is true.

I don't see Shanahan comming here and of course Mortensen's not infallible, i say give "BINGO LEWIS a shot(just kidding)i'm not real big on the former Denver hc,imo another "big" name for the sake of a making a splash across the NFL landscape, Russ Grimm should have been the choice before Zorn but that cow has grazed.

If it were Schefter or Glazer, I'd be excited b/c they are always on point.

If Shanahan is coming that means Vinny is out which makes p1 a very happy camper.

Here's to a skin's blowout in Jerry's new crib and to Hunter Smith hitting that giant TV twice. HAIL!

Also a big thanks to TheAnimalFarm for the Sunday morning grammar lesson. A lot of folks do that and come across kind of dikish. TheAnimalFarm, you are one of them.

????

Yeah, Shanahan sucks as a coach, he's just a big name.

If you take away those 2 Superbowls and the constant playoff appearances of his teams, then he's nothing - a big name incompetent brought in to make a "splash:.

Did anyone else see the report on the NBC 11 o'clock news that Jerry Gray is in consideration for a college coaching job? Maybe he can take Carlos back to school with him so that he can learn to catch

does Jerry let his proege & vacationing-buddy, Dannee, GM the game, from his owner's box?

Even from Austin, the view is the same:

F Dallas

And while I'm at it

F Collective Nouns

Shanahan is a poor evaluator of talent, he left the Bronco's a mess - especially on D were they replaced 8 of the 11 starters after he was unceremoniously fired, and he has only won one playoff game since Elway left.

I'd rather give Grimm the opportunity.

And why are we talking about this now when it's TIME TO F! DALLAS!

Wow, 60% of RI crowd think Skins are going to beat Dallas today. That must be some good weed!!!

On a technical note, anyone know how I can listen to the game on an iPhone?

Posted by: gringoinmiami | November 22, 2009 11:18 AM | Report abuse

i dont want a big name coach to come in here. i'm kinda selfish in that i want Snyder to "find the next big thing." I'm not issuing fan-ship ultimatums to the Skins FO based on Wins and Losses. My decision will be determined solely on whether Vinny is fired or not, and whether a new, reputed GM is hired. I'm all for a NEW young coach, as long as there is a new GM.

Wonderlicks is what you wanted your girlfriend to ace last night.

Well, the NFL team on the radio here in Austin confidently predicted that the Girls would wipe the floor with the 'Skins.

I definetely heard the sound of coughing, followed by "don't bogart that thing" coming over the radio.
