First to say... Lebron is staying in Cleveland!!!

This post is useless without pics.

Lebron will be playing in New York or Miami or Chicago or maybe cleveland.

First to say he will be playing in the NBA

Agreed Predator...topless photos would be appropriate, methinks...

brownwood, "don't be an idiot" necessarily implies that the person to whom it is direct is in fact being an idiot at the time the person is directed to act otherwise. My reading comprehension is fine.

I'm not going to go back and forth with you but I am 100% positive that you wouldn't spit half the sjk you talk on this board when you disagree with someone if you were face to face with that person.

Posted by: learnedhand1 | July 7, 2010 11:44 AM | Report abuse

if somehow ESPN could work in Brett Favre into the Lebron "look at me fest" it would be the most UNWATCHABLE TV in history.....

Oh, my G@D, it is July! Sure glad I tuned in to RI.

Then you would be wrong.

Because on a blog, the stuff we say is 100% left up to the interpretation of the reader. So stuff like inflection and sarcasm is lost if there's not some symbol or something to let you know that.

If I type "don't be an idiot" at the start of a post you'll take it personally more than you would if you and I were sitting at the bar, going back and forth on FD and Cooley, and I laughingly scrunch up my face, pat you on the back and say the exact same thing.

So now that we're done with the Communications 101 course, just know that it's gonna take more than a nice 10 game streak to be better than Chris Cooley. By that logic, Pats fans should be pissed that they unloaded Matt Cassel since he's better than Tom Brady...

Good to see everything is still par for the board. Bamas still beefing, bamas still doing them...

Maybe they could also mix in some "Dallas is winning the Superbowl" commentary.

I wouldn't put it past ESPN either...count on a Favre update, followed immediately by another reminder that TO is still available. Then they'll draw out the LeBron announcement an extra hour just to drive up ratings. Pretentious f*cks...

Posted by: brownwood26 | July 7, 2010 12:00 PM | Report abuse

brownwood, I doubt you were smiling or joking when you jumped to the defense of the sacred cow. Nevertheless, you do understand that it is possible for a player with less tenure to be better than a player with a longer tenure and better stats? Like I said, the season will bear it all out. We'll see who gets more looks and touches this year.

Hey folks, I realize that's it's offseason in Redskins land, and that the LeBron debate is sucking up a lot of airspace here and elsewhere. But don't Wizards fan hate LeBron. Who cares where he lands? We'll boo him anyways. Guy's the Travelling Man who believes it's his divine right to hold the NBA hostage.

Focus on the positive folks. Nats had a big win last night. Strasburg goes Friday. And Ryan Zimmerman could really use your help as he tries to get over the hump in NL All-Star Final Vote balloting. If you want to vote Zim, you can here.

Since it's July, I'll repost an old moral dillema I thought had pretty funny responses:

Whats the Spouse look like?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Question for the blog?

If you and your spouse and kid or kids and family dog were stranded on an island and you had two choices to make which one would you choose:

A: kill the dog and eat the dog meat until help arrives

B: you all die as a family

Posted by: GreatOne1

How big is the dog? Do we have the ability to get a fire started?

Posted by: SkinsneedaGM | May 20, 2009 11:37 AM | Report abuse

I'd cook my family and feed them to myself and my dog.

Dog = man's best friend.

Wife = annoying hack.

Kids = annoying hacks.

The tight end list is classic what have you done for me lately. Cooley spent last year injured and other players had great seasons. Cooley has to prove he can regain his pro-bowl form There is also reason to believe that he will lose some catches to the emerging Fred Davis.

Years of success does not translate into a better player next year.

Are two pro bowls better than 1 when the 1 was last year?

It can't be a day in RI w/o someone getting on someone's nerves.....And it's not always who you usually think! LH is usually one who is in defusal mode......

Now that I can agree with. And I'll gladly give you your props if FD ends up being the go-to TE in this offense in 2010. After all, the Redskins benefit either way and I'm pretty sure we're both interested in seeing the Redskins benefit. All I'm sayin' is that it's waaay too early to say FD is better than Cooley if the body of work is 10 starts for FD vs. 80 starts and 2 Pro-Bowls for Cooley.

Unbelievable!

You rip Kobe for being self-serving and ego driven then give Lebron the ol' attaboy when he does it? Maybe you can't see through the grandstanding "King" James loves to put on for the masses.

Biggest difference between the two:

Kobe doesn't put on a front that he's not an arrogant jerk. Lebron goes outta of his through posing and fronting like he isn't.

Posted by: RedDMV | July 7, 2010 11:00 AM |

Whoa wait a minute, I was just rippin' Kobe for the stupid dooshy faces he makes. I'm not one of those that was crashin' him for his past indiscretions or his ego. All I said was that he makes stupid faces. Also, I acknowledged that Lebron has a king sized ego and that ain't cool. Your makin' smoke where there ain't no fire my man.

Nobody's saying it is. Fred Davis didn't go to the Pro-Bowl, so I'm not exactly sure how that factors in anyway.

All I'm saying is that it's waaay to early to write off Cooley just because his backup put up some numbers while he was hurt. If you extrapolate Cooley's numbers last year to a full season, it's about the same thing Davis did. Plus it's not like he's 35 or something...dude is only 4 years older than Davis! It's a new season in a TE-friendly offense with little WR depth...there's no reason why there can't be enough footballs for both of 'em.

No way LJ leaves Cle. LJ is all about LJ and if he goes to Mia, it's all about the new Big 3. And what a big Moodlymoo he would take on Cle if he holds a 1 hr special and announces he leaving.

The play for him and his ego is stay. If not the he'll be more despised than Art Modell in Ohio.

Was not saying Davis is better. I was referring to the other TEs on the list before Cooley. Like Davis and Celek who went to the pro bowl last year.

I think Davis will eat into some of his catches but he will still be the number 1 TE.

The insider is weak. No info. Couldn't we get some position battle talk? Something, anything. Some sort of angle.

I hate to say it but J Reid and Ivan and the BOG just don't cut it anymore.

Reid can stay on as the beat guy, but the insider needs somebody with real access, issues, sources, etc.
