Great job of identifying the low hanging fruit Cindy, LOL

Ok they need to spread the field and throw often. JC needs to speed up his clock , and the D needs to tackle better. Not an impossible task.

1st to say too early to worry

The answer to that question was a no-brainer.

They need to come out and score on the first time they touch the ball. And can please call something other than CP every first down. Damn!

I'm not freaking about the offense yet.... I still think we are going to be better than last year....

Sorry, but you're posting this in the middle of a Redskins game?
Not a smart time, if I can say so.

good point twis, get kelly/moss/thomas the ball, keep our defense on the bench, and can someone give smoot/hall a refresher on how to tackle....
Posted by: BeantownGreg1 | September 13, 2009 5:41 PM | Report abuse
Zorn needs to come out and call pass plays in the second half. That's the only way this team is going to come back. The middle of the field is wide open, and they should put Moss in the slot as well and let him make plays.

moss needs to get his touches the 2nd half..
Posted by: BeantownGreg1 | September 13, 2009 5:35 PM
Kelly needs to get more touches!

I don't know what's more annoying, the play-calling or the sound of Troy Aikman's voice.
I'm leaning towards Aikman.

Let's play some Todd ball....get Campbell out of there. He is gone after this year anyway.

Am I the only one who thinks Portis looks terrible?
I mean, he had no breakaway speed last year, but this seems much worse.
Posted by: abtassler | September 13, 2009 5:43 PM | Report abuse
I wish our D was a playmaking D. But it is not. Hall is really overrated, Landry is no Sean Taylor. ;(
Posted by: rachel216 | September 13, 2009 5:43 PM | Report abuse
1st half was all about Blache trying to get the giants offense to be overconfident and to lose focus. 2nd half the defense acts like it knows what its doing. I'm sure that's the plan.

He did look extra slow on that 30 yarder. lol

I really don't get the hate for CP. People cried he doesn't get any runs over 10-20 yards. He breaks one for 34 and you still have sht to complain about.

I'd pick somewhere between extremely and slightly.
Pick it up, gang (Redskins secondary, that is) and make it simple for us!

Portis hasn't had breakaway speed in a long time. He isn't that type of back. I wish we had Adrian 'All day' Peterson. Speaking of him, anyone see his run this afternoon? That was just sick.
Posted by: rachel216 | September 13, 2009 5:46 PM | Report abuse
People shouldn't be whining about Portis...the blame lies solely with Zorn and Campbell
Posted by: mmz114 | September 13, 2009 5:46 PM | Report abuse
I agree 4th. Too early. I think Haynesworth is earning his money but the guys around him aren't picking up their play.

JM,
I agree with you..... We are playing against the best 2 lines in the league, Giants OL and Giants DL...... Keep moving the football and need pressure on LBM....This game isn't over yet.

Hall seems constantly scared of being beaten with a deep ball, so WRs can underneath him all day. Landry always seems to be one or two steps slow to the play, so it's limiting his effectiveness. And the DEs aren't taking advantage of one-on-one match ups.
Posted by: CDon | September 13, 2009 5:48 PM | Report abuse
secondary fail! how much are we paying d. hall? landry is luck he didnt get another 15 yarder and rodger should have had a pick six but his hands still seem to be put on backwards. at least smoot is tackling someone. they should be embarrassed to be on the same field as london fletcher...

MMZ,
I think a lot of the blame lies with Portis. That guy sucks the life and $$ out of the team and gives nothing but a prima donna personality back.
He needs to go.

Half-time:
Let's see. I said special teams and the o-line would determine the game. Chaulk up seven for the teams, and the o-line has performed very well. So why are our heroes down by 10?
1- That #1 draft pick for next year hasn't been put in the defensive backfield, namely CB. I knew 'LOS would not play and that HALL and SMOOT would let us down.
2- Too much time and an unawareness of onrushing linemen. CAMPBELL puts the ball on the ground instead of moving in the pocket. The day of the statuesque q-back is gone. I am right there with SNYDER and CERRATO - now. I see what they were driving at. I was willing to give JASON the benefit of the doubt, but he's asking the o-line to hold out d-lineman too long. Decisions, decisions, decisions, made too slow. And I don't think it will improve much.
3- Coaching. Keep going to the well until you get burned. Where's the back-up when ARE and COOLEY are covered? Where's KELLY or MITCHELL? Lets put some pressure on those d-backs with some striders with height like the G-men are doing to our CB's.

1st and 10: CP into the middle. 1 yard.
2nd and 9: quick pass to Cooley. 7 yards.
3rd and 2 (the money play): bare survival in the pocket, and pass to MK12.
First down!

At least they got a first down. The defense gets to rest another three downs, provided that a turnover doesn't happen.

throw it underneath ALL DAY LONG, throw it until they come up to stop it, then THROW over the top....
Posted by: BeantownGreg1 | September 13, 2009 5:54 PM | Report abuse
JC needs to learn to read the D before the snap, and how to use the pocket. He waits to long to move up into the pocket, which contributed to the ball being stripped.

I like Kelly, but if he did more than just stand there, Portis tacks on another 7-8 yards.

On third and two I'd like to see a screen, not on third and 18 like earlier in the game. Skins had an opportunity there to move the ball and little bit and didn't take advantage.
Portis does look slower, doesn't he? That last run of his, he was unable to bounce it outside with any quickness and get past the first-down marker.

One other thing, though, the Giants are the luckiest team in the NFL. They never lose challenges. I saw several challenges that should have gone against them last year but went for them instead. So look for the Giants to have the ball.

This is the first time that I've seen the NYG lose a challenge like this.

How many f_cking times do we have to see run run pass run run pass, how about mixing it up a little. This offense still looks like sh_t.
Posted by: Flounder21 | September 13, 2009 6:15 PM | Report abuse
Our offense sucks. Plain and simple. We keep running portis laterally and get no yards. Does this coach not see that this play doesn't f-ing work?
Posted by: Monk81_Green28 | September 13, 2009 6:20 PM | Report abuse
It is clear - Jason Campbell and Jim Zorn aren't long for the Redskins. The defense was mediocre, the offense was invisible, and the best offseason decision turns out to be a punter!
How long will Zorn last? How about when the team goes 0-6?
Posted by: laserwizard | September 13, 2009 7:01 PM | Report abuse
JASON CAMPBELL is not a decent NFL QB. He has yet to show that he can take over a game. JC had openings to run but played like he doesn't belong in the NFL at any level. Snyder and Cerrato was right to seek a starter, but they need a new Head Caoch and new Defensive coodinator. GB has enough coaching to be a Linebackers Coach, but that is it. This year Redskins will win 7 Games tops!!! These guys are not well coached and Andre Carter is a bust as well as thisa year,s 1st round Pick "Mr."O" no tackling Brian O.

I had high hopes for this team, but it's deja vu all over again! We were soundly whipped, out played out coached on both sides of the ball, we are not ready for prime time! The team looked flat, no one was flying around, EM had all day to throw, kept making third and long all day. JZ is not a good coach, his play calling leaves a lot to be desired! At no time did the Skins looked like they wanted any part of this game, they looked unprepared! You can see he does not trust his players, he never had a WR go deep all game. Can some one explain why this team for almost 2 decades can not score points? If we mess around next week and don't whip the Rams convincingly this will be another season wasted, if we lose to any of the teams we should beat, JZ should be let go. About JC! I hate to have to say it, he is not a good fit for this team, but I give JZ most of the blame! Get Mike S. if you can at least he will get a running game going! JZ play calling lacked bravado, lets not forget the fake punt was called by Coach Smith!
