Joaquin Phoenix, who did his own singing as Johnny Cash in "Walk the Line," is quitting the acting biz -- done, finito -- to focus on music, the Oscar nominee told Extra.

Britney Spears's dad will maintain indefinite control of her personal and financial affairs, a court ruled, extending a deal set up after all her craziness earlier this year. She's apparently okay with this, the AP reports.

Bruce Springsteen announced that he's pulling the plug on his usual elaborate Halloween display in his Rumson, N.J., yard because of its "catastrophic success," e.g., crowds too big for the neighbors.
