Billy Corgan leaving the White House on Monday afternoon -- same day as the big Obama visit, but no connection. The Smashing Pumpkins frontman, tall and bald as ever, in overcoat and scarf, wouldn't tell the fan who greeted him on Pennsylvania Avenue whom he met with, but said it was about something cultural. Seemed down on politics, calling our system "essentially flawed." Walked away with a couple of souvenir boxes of Air Force One M&M's. The band played Constitution Hall last night.
