N.J. Politician Apologizes for 9:30 Club Incident
A New Jersey politician who was arrested Friday for allegedly relieving himself on fellow Deadheads from the balcony of the 9:30 club apologized Monday at a Jersey City council meeting. Council member Steve Lipski (D) said he is an alcoholic who, after two dry years, fell off the wagon at the concert by Grateful Dead tribute act Dark Star Orchestra. Lipski, 44, would not discuss the incident; a victim who got doused told the Jersey Journal that the perpetrator was "grinning" as he emptied his bladder for a "solid minute."
