Sarah & the Cities: Baltimore Buys for 'Washingtonienne'

Sarah Jessica Parker (By Craig Blankenhorn/The Kobal Collection)
D.C. real estate bargain-hunters long ago discovered the secret, and now so has Sarah Jessica Parker: Baltimore is so much cheaper!
The producer of the HBO pilot "The Washingtonienne" brought filming to Adams Morgan, U Street, Union Station and other parts of the District for three days this week. (A spy at Saturday's shoot near the Treasury Department saw SJP in an Obama tee and Uggs, looking "like she weighs 90 pounds.") But they're spending several more days in Charm City, which will double as D.C. The producer told the Sun that Baltimore appeals because of all the film crews there who used to work on "The Wire" -- and, oh yeah, it's really affordable. Will they return to D.C. if the show is picked up? "We hope they will," D.C. Film Office chief Kathy Hollinger said.
