Cheers for Biden at C in C Ball

Our colleague Jackie Trescott reports:

Arriving at 8:50 p.m. to speak to the 2,000 military personnel at the Commander in Chief's Ball at the National Building Museum, Vice President Biden said that it was a "greater honor" to be the father of a son stationed in Iraq than "being the vice president." He was drowned out by cheers.

Biden admitted that he was scared he had to dance in front of a crowd and quickly made the sign of the cross. But before what turned out to be a smooth dance with wife Jill, he welcomed an incoming broadcast from Iraq. Fifteen deployed Americans expressed their congratulations to him, with one saying, "We look forward to whatever you have in store for us."

Biden said he'd head back to Iraq soon. "By the time I get back, we will bring a whole lot of you home," he promised. Again, he was drowned out by applause.

After the dance, it was back to MC George Lopez and singer Jordin Sparks.

Jill Biden should have her shoulders and arms covered. She's too wrinkly to be bare on top. Otherwise, the dress is pretty. Joe should lay off the Botox, it makes him look really weird. It's okay to age naturally, just dress appropriately. Jill should have worn a longer coat and dress today with her boots.

Tonight Michelle Obama's ballgown looks like my grandmother's chenille bedspread from the 1950's. Yikes. Michelle keeps tugging the gown constantly. A train? What a nightmare. Michelle must be so uncomfortable. I agree with the CNN commentator who said it appears that the strap was sewn on at the last minute. Tacky, very tacky. Michelle is in desperate need of a stylist. Her daytime choice was inappropriate. Sequins at noon? The gloves and shoe colors clashed. No taste.

The entire day has been a major disappointment. No class. The entire "ceremony" was less than dignified. Very, very disappointing.

From the poor choice of anti gay, anti woman, creepy fundy freak Rick Warren, to the botchd National Anthem by way, way past her prime, Aretha Franklin in a crazy, tacky hat, to the flubbed up oath of office by Obama and Roberts, to the less than inspiring speech by Obama, to the racist Rev. Lowry, to the weired "poet", to the rude attendees who booed Pres. Bush, the ENTIRE EVENT WAS JUST NOT CLASSY!

I am a Democrat and I am embarrassed. If this is the best Obama's got he's going to be a one termer.

The fawning media is embarrassing itself again.

I celebrate the color barrier being broken today. That's it. I wanted Hillary to be President. I wanted the gender barrier broken.

The "celebrities" are tacky too. The ratty looking outfits, the unshaven men, ugh. The catty anti-Bush comments. The so-called "creative coalition" is anything but. They ALL have the same talking points. Pitiful. "Hollywood" has NO glam anymore.

I DO celebrate the color barrier being broken. It's important. Let's raise a glass to that!

I wish this nation well.

Hillary 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TAH1: Talk about catty remarks!!
You would have more credibility if you had actually watched the events live or on TV. Aretha Franklin DID NOT sing the National Anthem. The National Anthem was sung by the US Navy Sea Chanters. Aretha sang "My Country 'tis of Thee" as anybody who watched and listened would have known

Okay, the U.S. Navy Sea Chanters did a fine job. The Williams piece was also nice. Aretha botched the song "My Country Tis of Thee" wearing a silly oversized grey hat. Satisfied? I did watch the event. I stand corrected. My point stands as stated.

You must be extremely beautiful to critic these women as you do? Post a picture of yourself. Your comments show a lot of class and glamour. Myself, I don’t claim to have much class, glamour or taste, so here ya’ go you hot mess! It’s your old grandma that has no class with that cheap bedspread. You are stuck in the 50’s like your grandma’s cheap bedspread. You probably don’t wear white after Labor Day – get with the program. You probably think style is polyester plaid leisure suits with fake leather white Go-Go Boots. And Bush’s stupid ass shouldn’t have been Boo’d, it should have been kicked; kicked so hard that it would render him speechless.
