Chanting at the Peace Ball
Eclectic get-ups mixed amid the tuxes give the 1,300-person Peace Ball at the National Postal Museum a rally-like feel. That, and the ball opens with a call-and-response chant.
The call from stage: "We must choose to take America --"
"Back!" shouts the audience in unison.
Five young women sport pink feather boas -- Code Pink boas, of course. "Actually, I have costume changes," says Ariel Vegosen, a 28-year-old from D.C. Like what? "Oh, it will be pink," she says.
Joan Baez takes the stage to sing "Forever Young."
