Hey, Isn't That...?

Obama heading into George Will's home last night. (Charles Dharapak/Associated Press)

Barack Obama last night, ducking into his first dinner party since moving back to Washington, at the Chevy Chase home of...conservative columnist George Will! Who, it should be noted, was no fierce supporter of the GOP ticket this time. Other right-leaning dinner partners spotted at the gathering, according to pool reports: Bill Kristol, David Brooks.

When is he going to meet with conservatives like Rush Limbaugh. Buzz has it that it just might have happened out of sight -- as this almost was!!!

NYT reports your own shill Krauthammer was there too. As to Limbaugh, except for his stable of dittoheads, he is largely irrelevant. He spent the first few weeks of the transition repeating his characterization of Obama as a "moron" socialist, now he complains that the left is mad at Obama because he is showing more centrist leanings, criticizing "flip-flops." You want credibility with the non-dittoheads, Rushbo, then be consistent. Of course, your dh's can't tell the difference.

Obama is continuing his fight against "the bubble", and this includes the White House bubble, the press bubble, and the Democratic bubble. As much as I think Kristol is a charlatan, he is an influencial "conservative" "thinker"...and Will, at least, demonstrates logical consistency. In the final analysis, isn't Obama EVERYONE'S president? All sides deserve to be heard, at the very least. Now, if Bush had had Markos to dinner, wouldn't that have been something?

Yep!!! That is my main man Barack Obama sitting down with the "enemies" of the looney left. My family voted for this guy because we can & do "read",unlike many folk in S.W.Va. & the Appalachian Mtns.We knew he was not a muslim, socialist, or some nut case. This man is a pragmatic man who grew up like most common people;had a few beers & some weed, growing up; found his way & uses his brain. As he says, democrats are not blessed with the only good ideas. Will,Brooks, & yes, even Kristol, may have good ideas. Well, maybe not Kristol.Way to go Mr President.

As a lifelong progressive liberal, I still listen carefully George Will's comments, becuse his strong logic and wonderful style. On the other hand, I am freightened by Rush Limbaugh who remind me Goebbels: Total disregard of facts and truth!

Where was Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, The recently retired Britt Hume, and the other representatives from Fox. Now if Obama can coopt that bunch it really would be something.
