Obamarama: Future First Dog News! Sort Of.

(Courtesy of People)
So you've heard the Obamas are getting a dog? The first lady dropped a couple more crumbs of vaguely new-ish details in the new issue of People for a nation slobbering for news, any news, about the future first pooch.
The latest: Michelle Obama told the magazine she's leaning toward a Portuguese Water Dog (last month, the president told ABC News either that or a Labradoodle -- supposedly more gentle on Malia's allergies); and that the target date is April, after the girls' spring break. (In November, she told "60 Minutes" they were looking at "late winter, early spring.")
But here's the new news! What the dog's name probably is NOT going to be. She said they'd been bouncing around names like Frank and Moose. But, "I'm like, no. Come on. Let's work with the names a little bit."
Michelle on the merits of the PWD breed: "Temperamentally they're supposed to be pretty good... From the size perspective, they're sort of middle of the road -- it's not small, but it's not a huge dog. And the folks that we know who own them have raved about them. So that's where we're leaning."

The Obama's should have foregone a dog as a White House pet and opted for a monkey.
