Ted Kennedy turned 77 on Sunday, but his big party comes March 8 at the Kennedy Center: Lauren Bacall, Bill Cosby, Bernadette Peters, John Williams, Hal Prince, James Taylor, Denyce Graves and Brian Stokes Mitchell will headline a musical salute to the senator from Massachusetts.
Two of the child actors from "Slumdog Millionaire" will be moved with their families from a Mumbai slum to new homes, local officials announced, in return for the honor they brought their country. Both Rubiana Ali, 9, and Azharuddin Ismail, 10, attended the Oscars in Hollywood this week. Filmmakers are paying for their schooling.
