Icy Relationship?

Jack Way, Tim Regan and Sen. John Kerry playing in the Lawmakers Vs. Lobbyists Charity Ice Hockey Game. (Justin Mein)
Can you really get a bruising, no-holds-barred hockey game going when it's "Lawmakers vs. Lobbyists"? Aren't these two groups too friendly for all that? You'd be surprised. No busted teeth at Friday's charity match in Ballston, but "some of the lobbyists were more aggressive than they are on the Hill," said Lobbyists defenseman Jeff Kimbell. The Lawmakers (with a roster heavy on staffer-ringers) won, 6-4, thanks to two goals by Rep. Brian Higgins (D-N.Y.), one from Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-Pa.) and an assist from Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.); Rep. Anthony Wiener (D-N.Y.) was goalie. The NRA's John Goodwin and PhRMA's Steve Tilton scored for the Lobbyists. The game raised $25,000 for the Fort Dupont Ice Hockey Club.
