Jolie and Pitt, on Task in D.C.

In "Salt," Angelina Jolie plays a CIA officer who disguises her appearance until she can prove she's not a spy. The film began shooting in Washington this week. (Sony Pictures Entertainment via PR Newswire)
The Brangelina has landed! Angelina Jolie is in D.C. filming "Salt" -- an action thriller in which she stars as a CIA agent forced to go on the run to clear her good name. (Don't they all?) The hush-hush production was delayed by the bad weather, so cameras started rolling yesterday at the Mandarin Oriental hotel (Jolie was spotted during a shoot in the lobby) and continue over the next five days near L'Enfant Plaza, the Navy Memorial and Pennsylvania Avenue.
A rep for Columbia Pictures declined to say much for security reasons ... but D Street SW was strewn with Columbia and Panavision trucks, a cart labeled "props," and, at the corner of Maryland Avenue and 12th Street SW, a bright yellow sign with "SALT" and an arrow pointing toward the Mandarin. Clever, these movie types.
As for Angie's other half: Brad Pitt met yesterday with Energy Secretary Steven Chu; he'll meet today with Nancy Pelosi to discuss reconstruction efforts in New Orleans, her office said.
