SELLER: Timothy Geithner
ASKING PRICE: $1.635 million
DETAILS: Looks like he's planning to stay. The new Treasury secretary and his wife, Carole, have put their New York home on the market -- and they're probably not going to break even on it. The Geithners bought the five-bedroom 1931 Tudor (4 1/2 baths, fireplace) in the posh suburb of Mamaroneck for $1.602 million in 2004, but sale fees and taxes will likely set them back, the listing agent told the local Journal News. Don't worry too much, though: When they sold their old Bethesda place in '04 after his last stint in government, it was for nearly $400K more than they paid three years earlier, according to public records.
