King Abdullah II of Jordan rumbling up to the Country Cafe in Harpers Ferry on Saturday, amid a pack of a dozen pals on Harley-Davidsons. The monarch, in town to meet with President Obama tomorrow, took advantage of the nice weather to motor out to the Maryland-West Virginia countryside. "He wanted to see the Armory from John Brown's raid," said a local who met him at the cafe, "and clearly he wanted to ride Harleys." The group was accompanied by a massive U.S. and Jordanian security detail.

Sounded like it in "The View" co-host's Twitter feed -- White House tour, meeting Ruth Bader Ginsburg at the Supreme Court. Behar and BF Steve Janowitz reappeared with Alda on Saturday to tour the Holocaust Museum's new Nazi propaganda exhibit.

This was mentioned in the rowing article in Sunday's sports section, but Joe & Jill Biden were there along with his German Shepherd Dog puppy, Champ, and some family to watch his grand daughter row for Sidwell Friends. No big advance...you would never have known that it was Biden except for 1) the cadre of black SUVs and sedans and 2) a guy walking his dog which is prohibited on regatta days at Sandy Run Regional Park. Dressed in sneakers, navy shorts, polo shirt and baseball hat Biden could have easily passed for just a regular dad or grandpa. The SS detail seemed to give him a lot of space and the spectators were very respectful. He shook a few hands at the end of the day and it was pretty neat seeing him out there. FWIW, Champ was well behaved, generally lying in the shade next to a bowl of water.

Thanks for the puppy update, skipper7. The Sourcettes left out the most crucial information in that item so I'm glad you filled us in! Too bad there isn't a photo of Champ, too. I'd rather see a puppy photo than a photo of Joy Behar.
